Some extra services have been put on the Ipswich line in view of the disruptions to western bus routes.

Well this is a change around ...  :-r

Translink tells 612:  An additional Ipsw line train will run 4.25pm Roma St-Corinda..

We have long suggested this time (a few minutes later optimal) for a sweeper.  At least it has run once ...

I saw that train and wondered if it was an extra one due to the bus driver strike!  Well done QR for being responsive.

Lock it in and don't remove it.  Call it a trial to see if adding additional services is rewarded with additional passengers.

The Translink transport planers seem to have overlooked that to maximise patronage if additional capacity is provide in one direction there needs to be additional capacity provided either 8/9 hours before or after to get those commuters to a destination so that they will avail themselves of this additional capacity for their return commute.

Is this a shot at the transport planners for providing significantly less PM peak services?  Aren't you getting off the point here?

Obviously the problem is not their ability to run this service permanently, but their willingness.  Tight ***es.

To be perfectly blunt about it yes my previous comment does reflect on the ability of Translink management to whom the transport planers are responsible, it is obvious that Translink does not realy give a hoot about the needs of comuters but has far greater interest in building a beauracracy and would rather spend what funds are avaliable on additional staff to do nothing but attempt to justify their existence by unduely complicating the operation of the comuter network both bus and rail.
