Seems that their great experiment to determine user acceptance of the changing idea has been a failure.  But didn't they doom their own experiment by (a) routing via Coro rather than Milton Rd, and (b) not using rail instead?

Also, it has shown that a greater number of buses than at present are able to run through KGSBS.  Shouldn't we get more routes in there?

Was talking to someone today and they said that once the Hale St link is open they are going to put in bus/transit lanes on the William Jolly Bridge.  I googled it and found this document: http://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/bccwr/about_council/documents/transapex_prefeasibility_report_executive_summary.pdf
A comment that it would indeed be done between North Quay and Peel St.  That's pretty strange for a few reasons: why not extend the transit lane to Melbourne St?  But more importantly, outbound buses shouldn't need to do the stupid Grey St-Milton Rd-Coro thing anymore once the Hale St link opens.

Yes, bus into the rail stations was the original plan, but I suspect disagreements between George St (both ends) and BT (read BCC) and a lack of committment to fund the extra rail got in the way.  BCC did come to the party with the two extra services, but petty politics stopped a proper implementation of transport plan that would have made travel a lot more seamless.

Give them 2/10 for trying something ...  disappointing that punters are caught in the middle of these transport charades ...

I love how the reporter says 8 buses terminate at Indooroopilly.
Ummm I wish they would get it right 8 bus routes.
