But were they waiting for that particular train, or were they just train/camera enthusiasts?

They clearly aimed their SLR cameras at the graffittied section of the carriages.

Story on ABC radio that Brisbane's gas-fired buses will be taken out of service today as a safety precaution.  Anyone got more details?

Fares_Fair

A gas cylinder ruptured whilst being refilled at Virginia, it became a projectile and hit another bus.
Reported that over half of Brisbane's buses will be out of service.

IMU161 and 165, Both with wi-fi fitted sighted doing a Nambour service around Beerwah this afternoon.  Both have the wi-fi stickers attached next to the doors and (as per Friday's report from a colleague) have both toilets working.

Here's a pic of the unit at Caboolture this morning.

Boarded a late running Ipswich service (1.30pm actual 1.37pm) at Roma St this afternoon, platform 5 Roma St.  Previously I caught a Roma St service from platform 2 Central.  All trains were running on platforms 1, 2 and 3 Central.  Large numbers of pax at Central, which prompted me to catch the earlier service to Roma St to wait.  No trains on the mains.

For months now, a string of cargo waggons, dented, rusting and tagged has sat along the disused Banks Pocket line between Gympie and Gympie North stations, backing up to the Gympie platform.  What is their destiny?

Most probably the scrappers torch, any pictures of these waggons would be interesting.

At Goodna rail, down coalie on the move, looks like bit of hole at the down end of platform one (down) remember platform numbers at Goodna reversed.

Wagons bouncing around a bit ...

PS.  Had a look, more of a small lateral kink than hole .. not unsafe but noticeable ...

IMU188 already needs "de-cantation".  Toilet out of order this morning on the journey in.

Meanwhile, not sure if this has been reported, but IMU166 is now wi-fi enabled.  However, unfortunately 166 was wasted today on the Caboolture-Nambour counter-peak shuttles (which include a 5 hr break sitting in the Caboolture yard), due to known reliability issues of the ICEs normally scheduled on the counter-peak shuttles.  But at least the toilets were working.

Load survey counters sighted outside the buses at Lansdborough, they were (assumably) counting those that use the 605/615 buses in the afternoon peak.

QR workers spotted on the tracks of platform 2 at South bank station, and further south along the track at around 11. There was a surveyors tool on platform 1 as well.

Loco, baggage car, buffet, sitting car and power van.

The power van was running to provide power for the A/c on two carriages."

IMU168 has intermittent wi-fi signals.  It's however password protection by Qr so I'm assuming they're in their testing phase.

I received this fixed fare today, after travelling from Central Station to Roma Street on my regular lunch time exercise regimen.
I touched off at the closest gates after exiting from Platform 2 at Roma Street, and then walked the full length down to the Roma Parklands exit, walking straight thru' the open gates and telling the staff there that I had touched off at the Platform 2 exit gates.

I contacted Translink, who were very helpful, and they will correct the erroneous fixed fare charges, he informed me that I would be charged 2 lots of $10 fixed fares even though it is not shown here. Correction may take up to 24 hours to appear.
My history shown below:

Are you aware that trips that incur a fixed fare are not counted towards the 10 journey threshold?

This can be an issue ...

I was told the fare will be corrected back to $2.44 and the remainder credited back to my account.
I assume that this will then count towards my free journeys, is that not the case here?

Keep a close eye on it.

But say you have completed 9 journeys, and then on the 10th you get  fixed fare.  You were expecting to travel free after that, no you don't. Until another clear journey is completed to reach 10 journeys.

It gets very messy, as when they adjust the 10th journey fixed fare and you have paid for an eleventh journey, they should then make that free, agree?  But they don't .. unless you request it as I understand it.

Really?  I looked into that and thought they specifically said that you couldn't.  Might have trouble disputing the one I am referring to because I'm on a new Go Card since then.

Fares_Fair

The TransLink operator was intrigued on how I had incurred a double whammy fixed fare with just one touch, very quirky for Go card.

If your first request for a fixed fare adjustment is refused, you can request a review.  Has always been the case.  If it happened to me and they refused a further review I would take it to the various authorities etc.

Wider, it is rather outrageous actually to think that if a punter cops fixed fares due to system faults, then they pay additional for journeys above the free threshold and when the original fixed fares are adjusted they don't give back the fares that should have been free. I will raise it at the PTAG.

I can remember hearing about a 1 month sunset clause on disputing Go Card transactions on 612.  That's pretty outrageous also, if true.

Sorry if it's been reported already, but EMU02 has been refurbished with new communication systems and destos.  Judging by from what I saw of the inside, the "square pids" for the VAS were also installed.

EMU02 was sighted substituting for the ICE on the morning's Caboolture-Nambour counterpeak shuttle service before resting in the Caboolture yard for 5 hours.
