The thing the current bus system does best is provide frequent, almost urban-level service along a couple of inner-city corridors (with the possibility of frequent cross-radial services connecting UQ, using Buranda as an interchange). This map depicts these.

Welcome MaxHeadway.
The map looks amazing; how did you make it?

CityGlider and 199 both start and finish at the same places. Perhaps [199 + CityGlider] should just be merged into a "buses both way" mass transit circuit.

Good ol' Inkscape [earlier incarnations were produced with Dia].

Maybe the CityGlider could eventually be absorbed into TransLink, with the rapid-transit elements being retained (and applied to other routes)! Although that would make a loop arrangement (in both directions) possible, I have no idea of the pluses or minuses of such a configuration vs conventional end-to-end routes (factoring in layover recovery times etc).
