The forgotten line.

While patronage steadily increases, we're stuck with just 2 additional services in the morning and afternoon peak periods.  There is a 38-minute gap during the afternoon peak period.

Stations are looking neglected and run-down - although some work is starting in this area, which is good to see.

Duplication of the remaining single track is on the horizon - but I am starting to believe it is just a mirage.

Gaps too large during peaks and morning trains often standing room only from Deagon.

This is caused by people from Redcliffe using services.

If the line from Petrie to Redcliffe was built, this would help much of the overcrowding.

Agree with previous comment ? as certain aspects of the service almost seem to be 19th Centaury.

I endorse what's been said already.  30 minutes between trains is far too long, and the 38 minute gap in early peak hour afternoon is scandalous.

This line takes commuters from Redcliffe, and the parking (at Shorncliffe, Sandgate, Deagon) is inadequate.  North Boondall is the first station on the line with much dedicated parking, but it fills early.  Because of the Redcliffe contingent, trains are full right from the beginning of the run, which means much more than 20 minutes standing during peak hour.

It also takes commuters from Bracken Ridge (often forgotten) - buses link to Sandgate Station.

Duplication of the line between Sandgate and Shorncliffe is off the time horizon somewhere - but almost no trains currently use platform 2 at Sandgate.  If this became the norm, the 30 minute interval could easily be cut.

The line also services the Boondall Entertainment Centre - which brings in another set of timetabling problems.
