ARG has today announced it has signed a three year bulk grain rail haulage contract with GrainCorp.

Under the contract, which takes effect from today, ARG will transport grain to the company?s Mackay, Gladstone, and Fisherman Islands (Brisbane) export grain port terminals from numerous storage depots in South West and Central Queensland.

ARG?s Bulk East Group General Manager Chris Gregg says he is pleased to announce that the companies have reached agreement and the contract has now been finalised.

?This is an important contract that provides GrainCorp with an efficient rail solution and meets our needs as a commercial organisation,? Mr Gregg said.

?It is also consistent with our commitment to maximise rail capacity for grain in response to significant increased demand through the most efficient use of trains on commercial terms.

?As a group, we?ve always supported the grain industry, even during lean years when harvests were modest and demand was well below our capacity.

?This contract further reinforces our ongoing commitment to the grain industry in Queensland.?
