And this is why I dislike the Translink Journey Planner

Although this is kinda my fault for being lazy and not breaking it up in the system (but I shouldn't need to), I found two possibly ways that get me there faster (although they use the same train in both) without even putting that much attention into it or by always using the first option but I like trying to cut down on transfers especially at stations/locations I don't usually/never have been.

The route it gave me for departing after 8:50AM:
QuoteBracken Ridge TAFE (North Point) to Ferny Grove Rail (Option Two)
***
Take Bus: 330 - From North Point → Normandy Busway (9:23AM to 10:08AM)
Take Bus: 345 - Normanby Busway → Alderley BiLo (10:31AM to 10:40AM)
Take Train: Alderley Railway Station → Ferny Grove Railway Station (10:48AM to 11:05AM)
Personally instead of getting off at Normandy Busway, I went one stop further to Roma Street Railway Station and caught the same train back to Ferny Grove Railway Station.

Now if I had broken that up in the journey planner I could done the following options:
(Both resulting in the same train)
QuoteBreaking it up using the following stages:
Bracken Ridge Tafe (North Point) to Chermside Interchange (Option Two)
Chermside Interchange to Ferny Grove Railway Station (Option One)
***
Take Bus: 330 - North Point → Chermside [Gympie Rd] (9:23AM - 9:47AM)
Take Bus: 598 - Chermside Interchange D → Brookside (9:49AM - 10:11AM)
Take Train: Mitchelton Railway Station → Ferny Grove Railway Station (10:24AM - 10:35AM)
or
QuoteBreaking it up as:
Bracken Ridge Tafe (North Point) to Chermside Interchange (Option Two)
Chermside Interchange to Newmarket Railway Station (Option One)
Newmarket Railway Station to Ferny Grove Railway Station (Option One)
***
Take Bus: 330 - North Point → Chermside [Gympie Rd] (9:23AM - 9:47AM)
Take Bus: 333 - Chermside Interchange A → Windsor Rail (9:45AM - 9:59AM)
Take Train: Windsor Rail → Newmaket Railway (10:12AM - 10:16AM)
Take Train: Newmarket Rail → Ferny Grove Rail (10:16AM - 10:35AM)

So how does the system work out the routes? cost to the passenger or something?

longboi

:D I worked that out long ago. If I ever need to go crosstown by PT, I'll always break it up. The thing is, I know all the interchange points. If you're just a casual user you wouldn't even know.

What an ordeal! A whole hour.
Considering that if it chucked my any later service, I would of been stuck at ferny grove station or surrounding areas for about 5 hours till anyone I knew got off work so I could get a lift to where I live, yes timing does matter for me.
