Why can't they catch the train and use a feeder bus?  ;D

achiruel

Why would anyone want to do that? Bus network is clearly not broken!  >:D

Mr X

I like how the 77, 589 and 599 are supposedly affected.

Also good to see these delays will continue all the way to tomorrow night to affect nightlink ;)

Hopefully not too late. I got to be at work by 6am!

Honestly can't someone there do some research first?

10 minute+ delays through the Valley outbound. Traffic was backed up from the lights on the corner of  Whickham street/Gipps Street (road works and reduced to two lanes instead of the usual 4) all the way back and onto Adelaide street. So any routes like the 196, 199, CityGlyder, 306, 320, 335, 370 etc are delayed. Citybound I don't think were any delays.

Pitty those people living in the far reaches can't catch the train to Strathpine and then board a bus to Brendale/Eatons Hill/Albany Creek when its roughly the same/faster than a bus from the city for a 1 seat journey.....  :fp:

Lucky we have a quad inbound from Darra with excellent train frequency, huh?

While going inbound along the Gateway I saw a outbound BT bus stuck in traffic between the Toombul and Nudgee sections. No idea why it was that far out as no routes go that way. Must have been taking one hell of a detour to the Virginia depot! haha.

False alarm. Apparently some dufus ran up the backside of another car outside the Maccas on Milton Road so there was congestion as a result of everyone trying to get around it.

Any other way the prepaids etc can be rerouted in these rare occurences ?....as it creates absolute chaos in the cc section.10 mins just to get from sbnk to cc!

Some runs could go over the Story Bridge but that's even worse for those runs, probably.  There would still need to be a link between W'Gabba and Mater Hill.

Others could terminate at W'Gabba for runs via there, or for ones via Buranda, run in to Park Rd to interchange for rail.

Good ideas there  :-t

Golliwog

As a genuine question, compared to sitting on the busway in an occurrence like this, how bad would it be to exit before Mater Hill and go via Grey St? It wouldn't be good for those bound for CBD stops that aren't on the busway, but I'd wonder how long it'd take to make stops on Grey St to mirror the busway stops, then across to Roma St and go through KGSBS/QSBS in reverse?

Alternatively, as we know most buses are half full if you got some of the buses to exit the busway before Mater Hill and drop their passengers outside so they can get on the buses that are continuing on the busway (i.e. get rid of all the half full buses and make full ones!) you'd reduce the number of buses going through but keep the number of passengers up.
There is no silver bullet... but there is silver buckshot.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Better than a 30 minute delay, that's for sure.
