Can I ask that if members see this and other bus congestion or waste, please please photograph it and post it up. Thanks. It is very helpful to have an evidence file of the waste.

I wanted to today, but unfortunately I was driving the train I was on :)

When I went past on my Beenleigh train at 0940 this morn, the bus jam was from the Melb St. Portal, right through South Bank station and beyond down into the tunnel...

Clearly not normal for 9.40am. 7/8am maybe but not that late.
There was a broken down traffic light around that area yesterday.....re my earlier post...........perhaps there was traffic light signalling errors causing troubles around that area this morning as well.

But what about the 338. Is it delayed? Bah! Undefined! Pfft!

Bit of a pattern here with the bus delays HTG, as long as they leave the 524 alone, meddle with it and there will be a petition quicker than a myki touch off ...

Haha. I'm just taking the mickey as lately when ever there is a delay in the city it seems to; according to the Translink service disruption page "effect" the 338 Chermside-Strathpine via Everywhere, the 77 which goes under the city, the 326/327 Toombul-Bracken Ridge routes, the 329 Carseldine-Bracken Ridge, the 336/337 Chermside loops and the glorious 311-314 routes hahaha. It's like saying there's a delay on the railway line but without saying what line or where the fault is :P

Outbound buses from Brisbane are delayed due to an earlier accident on the Pacific Motorway northbound near Greenslopes. Passengers can expect delays of up to 30 minutes. Coronation Drive, Toowong (inbound) is also now experiencing heavy traffic congestion.

Affected services:

<snipped a list of every BT service, I think)

Once again, another demonstration of how vulnerable our public transport network is to delays caused by road crashes, due to over-reliance on buses.

And with the present sentiment to remove transit lanes etc. is only going to get worse.  Congestion generally is much worse this year, they are certainly on a slide down, but they believe there is nothing much wrong.  The evidence speaks for itself ...

I myself notice that if there are delays on buses the passengers usually remain a lot calmer as opposed to rail delays eg: signal faults which are the pet hate of train delays. And if there is a large train delay...it almost always makes the news. Eg: quest,cm,btimes.

Good to see that a bus travelling from 8MP along the busway and then into a empty tolled tunnel express under the city is still delayed.

Are they really getting that lazy now.

SurfRail

Tip for free to the TransLink web team.

THE 623 WAS DISCONTINUED LAST YEAR AND NEVER RAN IN OR TO BRISBANE!

Only about the 8th time now I think.

People might think observations like this are piddling, but it goes to the heart of everything wrong with the network.  Slap-dash, no quality control, nobody cares.

I think the school bus thing gets picked up because one of the inner city "district" routes still runs when it isn't a school day (the 923?).

Story Bridge diversions

Last updated: 6.27am Friday 12 April 2013

Due to a traffic incident closing the Story Bridge in both directions, the following buses are being diverted:

Route 475: inbound buses will travel from the PA Hospital, left onto Stanley Street East, across the Captain Cook Bridge, taking the Elizabeth Street exit and continuing normal route to Fortitude Valley. These buses will miss all stops on Mains Road between Woolloongabba and Kangaroo Point.

Routes P216, 221, 227, P231, 232 and P236 inbound will travel via Lytton Road, left into Latrobe Street and Elfin Street, right into Stanley Street East, onto the Captain Cook Bridge, taking the Elizabeth Street exit, then follow the normal route.

These diversions are expected to be in place throughout this morning's peak travel period. Delays should be expected.

I'm going to assume the 725 is a western suburbs school route, but that really begs the question why when the Gold Coast has been using route numbers in the 700-series for nearly 10 years.

Not broken?

Okay people. Its about time we all got over it! The network... okay.... It's not broken!

First picture has 2 empty buses to the right parked. 340 parked using bay C. 598 behind it. 330 queued waiting for the 340 to depart and I didn't catch the number on the Volvo.
Second picture has a out of service 680 parked to the side with a 333 parked infront of it waiting for its schedulled inbound run and a now out of service 370 now parked behind it. Theres a 320 at the far bay. A 598 infront and because of its positioning it blocked the 335 from getting into the bay. Not shown but happened a couple seconds later was a seperate 370 in service route now stuck in the middle of the giant mess.

See. It isn't broken......... ;D ;D ;D
