Clarks Logan City Route 560 (and I imagine the 562 as well) are being rerouted via the Logan Motorway due to Loganlea Road being flooded between Nujooloo Road and Queens Road, Slacks Creek. Nothing on Translink about this, I even called them this morning and waited on hold to find out if I could even get to work, and they had no clue.

I think there might also be rerouting on 550 and 545 due to flooding, but I can't say for certain.

Why the 443 doesn't use Milton Rd and Western Fwy when it does not stop along its current route is baffling.

^ Particularly given that it endures the worst of the congestion O/B along Milton up to Cribb St.  I guess it does avoid the congestion around the roundabouts, but it could use Jephson St.

Mentioning bus lanes, BCC got back to me about why bus lanes weren't installed along Lutwyche Rd between the two sections of the Northern busway (it's a council road so they have to give permission, though the act as I understand it does give the state power to force their hand). I was told that BCC supports the full version of the busway (i.e. tunnelled between the two existing sections) which is something off in the never never at the moment, and said the cost of bus lanes (both $$ cost and time cost to cars) outweights the benefits to buses. This is apparently because there are now more cars using Airport link so delays to buses aren't that significant. Or so they say anyway.

The only upside is they said they were going to reassess the operation of that section to see if that still holds now that the number of cars using Airport Link has stabilized. Either way though, I would have thought putting the bus lanes in NOW when you have a low in the number of cars using Lutwyche Rd would be the way to go so that people accept they're there and get used to it.
There is no silver bullet... but there is silver buckshot.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

minbrisbane

So does this actually mean the bus lanes may yet still be installed?

HappyTrainGuy

I still reckon they need to sort out the issue with the outbound services creating a small bus jam at the Albion portal. I haven't had a chance to see what its like since the removal and sending some routes via the airport link so they might be in the position for it.

It's possible yes. But I won't be holding my breath.

What I did find interesting though is in the phone call he asked me if I'd been experiencing delays along the corridor, which I had to honestly answer with not really seeing as I don't use it very often (mostly use the Kedron to Chermside section). So perhaps if people gave BCC some feedback about their bus delays on Lutwyche Rd it might get somewhere? Who knows.
