Bus crash causes Pacific motorway delays from Loganholme

DELAYS are expected to continue for at least another hour on the Pacific Motorway northbound from Loganholme following a bus crash this morning.

The dual bus hit a guard rail around 6.40am and has turned around, facing the wrong direction.

The bus is yet to be removed from the scene but it is understood a car was also involved in the incident.

Six people have been taken to Logan Hospital with minor injuries and another person has been taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with suspected spinal injuries.

It is unknown whether there are still patients at the scene of the crash.

While a police diversion has been set up at Exit 28, traffic is backed up to Yatala and delays are expected to continue for sometime.

Translink has also warned commuters that buses between Logan and the City will be delayed for an hour as a result of the incident.

Two northbound lanes on the Gateway Bridge at Murrarie are also currently blocked following a two car crash.

Chermside bus diversions and delays

Route 77, 325, 333, 330, 335, 338, 340, 370, 598 and 680 bus services are delayed up to 30 minutes due to a traffic incident between Webster and Sparkes Roads at Chermside.

Stewart Rd diversion/delay (Ashgrove)

Route 350, 352, 598 and 599 bus services travelling via Stewart Rd (Ashgrove) are diverted and may be delayed up to 15 minutes.
This is due to a burst water main and roadworks on Stewart Rd (Ashgrove) between Celia St and Globe St.

Some Stewart Rd stops will be missed and customers are advised to seek the nearest operating bus stop. 

Buses will divert via Waterworks Rd, Ashgrove Ave, Holmesbrook St and Mclean St.


Bus routes 372, 373, 377 and 378 will travel normal route.

South East busway delays

Buses traveling (outbound) on the South Eastern Busway may be delayed due to a broken down bus at Woollooongabba bus station.

Driver of the Veolia bus got it very wrong on the turnaround at the Gabba portal.. Back wheel of bus ended up in the garden bed and as a result, the bus was stuck fast with the front blocking the portal exit lane. Tow truck could not pull it out so a crane had to be called upon.

I was caught up in this today. Traffic was barely moving along the Riverside expressway. The 6:30 P205 I was on saw cars building up along William St, and was quite slow from the Alice St on ramp to the Stanley St off ramp. 2 right lanes were closed near the off ramp, which was where the accident occurred.

The trip to Buranda wasn't much faster than going via Cultural Centre.

Outbound buses will divert left into Montpellier Road, right into Abbotsford Road, right into Edmondstone Road, left into Ross Street, right into Edmund Street, left into Breakfast Creek Road and continue normal route. Inbound buses will follow this diversion in reverse.

Inbound routes 306 and 322 will travel via Edmondstone Road, through the roundabout with Ross Street and Folkstone Street, left into Abbotsford Road, left into Montpellier Road, right into Breakfast Creek Road, then continue normal route down Ann Street.

Several bus stops are being missed on Breakfast Creek Road. Passengers should walk to the nearest stop on the diversion route.

Delays are expected to extend into mid-afternoon at this stage.
