Route 77 diverted due to Clem 7 closure

Customers on bus route 77 in both directions should note buses will travel on the Inner Northern and South East Busway (including through city busway stations) until further notice due to the closure of the Clem 7 tunnel.

They will continue along Bowen Bridge Road and turn right onto the Inner Northern Busway (near the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital) and return to normal route at Buranda Busway Station.

The O'Keefe Street stop will be missed. Some minor delays may be experienced.

Must be the first stage of the 'Cleveland Solution'  :-w :-r

Why can't they just send the services out Ex Wooloongabba, up over the Story Bridge and to RBWH?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there is currently any facility for buses to turn left out of the busway and to turn right into the busway from Main St heading south.  You would need to exit the busway at Buranda and brave traffic on Ipswich Road, so this is probably faster.

That turn should be possible as it would enable the 77 to run this way full time and achieve something useful.

TT may have a point though.  They could use the normal exit, run up Ipswich Rd and Main St, then across the Story Bridge.  Not sure if this would be any faster though.

Mr X

They can't do it Southbound though, unless they use the O.Keefe St portal to the Eastern Busway and then turn right towards Buranda.

Golliwog

The O'Keefe St portal is the one they normally use so I don't see why you wouldn't stick with that. Though via Story bridge does expose it to traffic and traffic lights meaning a less reliable trip time.
There is no silver bullet... but there is silver buckshot.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Massive delays Tuesday afternoon at the Gabba due to Stanley street being closed to all traffic between Wellington street and Ipswich/Main street due to a traffic incident involving a motorcycle.
Buses diverted via Balaclava and Ipswich rd. Traffic in Stanley Street was backed up to Cavendish Road. ( I was caught in it on a 212 service )

And it is just down to "peak hour".

The core on the buses also needs to be unblocked - where is the plunger!
All the more reason for Class A, all the way and possibly even an North-South subway.

QuoteI WANT A FULL ENQUIRY INTO WHY!!!

Why? It is obvious what is going on - it is Class C ROW through CBD, and all Class C ROWs are exposed to interference and delay from surface traffic. Coupled with the "everything to the centre" philosophy and "rocket to my house" of course it is going to overload. 40 minutes! LOL - take a CityCycle!

Moggill Road, Pinjarra Hills delays

Customers can expect delays of 15 minutes in both directions on Mogill Road in Pinjarra Hills following a traffic crash at the intersection of Moggill Road and Bainbridge Road.

Buses are being diverted until further notice and several stops are being missed.

The eastbound diversion is via Grandview Road and Pullenvale Road. Westbound diversion is via Pinjarra Road.

We appreciate customers' patience during this time.

Awful Delays out of UQ this arvo. Took 30 mins to get from Chancellors Place to the Shell at Toowong. Actually gave up at the stop before then and walked the rest of the way to Toowong.

People were queueing across intersections, resulting in gridlock. At the Shell intersection (Gailey, Sr Fred Schonell)  there were people coming off Sr Fred Schonell doing the right thing and holding back on green and not entering the intersection (as is the law). Meanwhile the phase ends, people on would just come across from Gailey Rd and queue all the way across, so cars/buses who had waited on the previous phase couldn't get through.

Rinse and repeat.
