Oh, so there was a reason for it. I went past on and outbound 109 just before 9am (right around when Ozbob was posting that actually) The bus had been cleared but the line of buses went from the Melbourne Street portal, through South Bank station, into the tunnel and ended right at the Mater Hill entrance to the tunnel. Was not a pretty sight.

Was going to post that I went past at 8:35am on a train and it was backed up almost to South Bank Bus Station.

I guess this is a limitation of the busways, a single broken down bus in a critical location can cause delays. Note that the Ipswich line was also delayed today due to a shopping trolley on the tracks, if I heard it correctly.

Adelaide Street temporary bus stop closures

From 7pm Tuesday 15 March until 5am (Wednesday 16 March), there will be a temporary stop closure of Adelaide Street stops 23, 24, 39 and 40 due to major drainage works being carried out in the area.

As a result, the following stop relocations will be in effect for services travelling towards Fortitude Valley:

•301, 305, 306, 322, 344, 370, 375, 379, 380, 381, 390 - passengers should proceed to Adelaide Street stop 21
•124, 125, 174, 175, 204, 230, 235 - passengers should proceed to Adelaide Street stop 22

It's not a good idea at Altandi IMO. You still need the Mains Rd service north of there, and the interchange would be significantly a slower and less convenient service for those affected. Why not just continue to have the buses run through?

Not sure what you are thinking of at Darra either. Increased service on the 103?

So 15 minutes on a bus to go down Coronation Drive PLUS 30 minutes delay = 45 minutes journey time minimum. This is three times the time it would take if they had just used the train and there was a bus-rail Interchange at Indooroopilly. It might even be faster to bicycle from Indooroopilly.

Pacific Motorway (Logan City) delays

Route 555 (Loganholme bus station to Brisbane City) inbound buses are delayed up to 20 minutes in both directions due to earlier accidents in both directions on the Pacific Motorway.

Inbound route 555 buses are delayed 20 minutes due to an earlier truck accident on the Gateway Motorway onramp from the Pacific Motorway. Outbound route 555 buses are delayed due to an earlier accident near Winnetts Road at Daisy Hill.

Extra unscheduled inbound 555 (Loganholme bus station to Brisbane City) services are running to alleviate delays.

The accidents have also caused extreme congestion on alternate routes including Logan Road and Rochedale Road, leading to delays up to 20 minutes on bus routes 551, 561, 566, 569, 571, 573, 575, 577, 579, 581 and several school bus routes.
