It's really no surprise any more. It rains, Coro clags up, the entire Brisbane West bus network turns to poo.

If there's any more than about 5-10mm in that area between 2-4pm, Coro will be a carpark. You can bet your house on it.

Ended up putting in a complaint on Wednesday about that 60 minute delay. They only first pushed that message out just after 6pm (when I got home). But when I turned up at KGS to catch a 385 just before 5pm, there was already 4 lines at stop 1C, the 444 and P443 extending back through our stop, plus the lines for the 61 and 385. Not sure how far back they ended up going, it was about 5:20pm before a 385 finally showed up and was packed out, in that time only one 444 turned up (already with a "Bus Full" desto) and the P443 showed up seconds before the 385. Meanwhile 2 or 3 Maroon Gliders came through.

My complaint was there was absolutely no communication to those at the stops waiting for buses, there was one guy in a highvis vest who didn't seem to do anything to try and manage the lines (sometimes they send a couple down when the 444/P443 lines get back to our stop to make sure everyone is lining up in the right queue and people can still get past). While I expected some delay, the lack of communication with the screens still counting down as if everything was fine was abysmal.
There is no silver bullet... but there is silver buckshot.

All buses through KGSBS and QSBS were suspended today around 4:20pm due to a fire alarm at King George Square station. Only one tweet about it from TransLink saying "all buses suspended into the CBD", with the service notice now deleted. Appears to have been all resolved by about 4:30-4:40pm, nothing much on the news so clearly didn't cause too many issues.

Pretty hard to get decent information in the secret state isn't it? They even hide the obvious disruptions.
Is it really that hard to run frequent, reliable public transport?

KGBS and QSBS were closed for about 25 minutes. I was stuck in the conga line at the Melbourne St portal trying to turn into Melbourne St. The CC and Vic Bridge were at a near standstill. Problem in this situation is that only 2 or 3 buses can turn right onto William at a time to access the alternate stops in the CBD..

Got caught up in this. Got off my inbound bus near the corner of Gailey Rd/Sir Fred and walked to Toowong to catch the train. I wasn't slacking in my walking, but I wasn't running (say 6-7km/h). I beat the bus by a good 5 minutes. Long weekend seems to have done it this time, I'm guessing.

Most buses don't need to run down Coro Drive; only a select few.

New Bus Network Proposal only has two lines 412 St Lucia and 400 CentenaryGlider. Everything else is dumped into the rail network.

I thought BCC was going to do another bus review, seems to have gone silent for now.

Travelling to anywhere in the western suburbs is a sh*tfest in peak hour. Just look at how long it takes buses to go from the city to Indro compared to ones going to say, Garden City.

They really should be encouraging people to use the train.

Part of the problem (IMO) is the massive f**k up made by the State Government when they refurbed Indooroopilly railway station without giving a thought as to proper provision of a bus interchange. Morons.

An interchange at Indooroopilly would be perfect BUT if superbuses are put on the 400 CentenaryGlider service, pax can change at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre to another bus.

That would reduce duplication, but wouldn't fix the Coro Dr traffic congestion issues.

Put a peak hour toll on Coronation Drive, watch the congestion disappear.

Unrelated but the 444 needs to leave from the same cultural centre platform as all the other indro services. It's so inconsistent.

Honestly, this is very frustrating. As I travel from Ashgrove (via 61) to Indro a lot, I ask myself the question- "do I get off at Roma St, change platforms and wait up to 15 mins for a 444 or travel to CC, get off on same platform and wait for a 425, 430, 435, 450, 453 or 453 (each running at different times.

I must admit, it is generally better to get the 61 to the CC and change there is generally a bus within 10 mins (rather than 15 at Roma St). But it really is a gamble.

Hey, what are the odds. Water + Corro Dr = recipe for disaster!

Something worth accounting for would be the additional travel time to get to the Cultural Centre. I find the 4XX CityXpress routes from QSBS take a long time to get on to Coronation Drive. 412 is by far the fastest... straight onto Ann St then on to the Expressway.
