SEQ: QR Citytrain On time Performance nudges 98%

RAIL Back On Track (http://backontrack.org) a web based community support group for rail and public transport and an advocate for public transport commuters has highlighted QR Citytrain's on time peak performance on June 29 at 97.7%.  This is world class.

Robert Dow, Spokesman for RAIL Back On Track said:

"QR Citytrain has been criticised because of poor on time train performance.  Largely under resourced for years, it is a credit to all at QR that they have kept the on time performance generally around 90% or better.  As new trains are added to the system we are now starting to see the results!"

"All public transport systems are subject to the effects of incidents largely out of their control.  For example sick passengers and idiotic motorists ramming boom gates."

"On time bus performance is similarly affected by the road congestion and other incidents. Bus on time performance is a lot worse than rail but we don't compare avocados with apples. "

"Commuters welcome the better performance as more rolling stock comes on line.  Well done QR Passenger!"
