We have seen service increases on the Gold Coast and Petrie/Caboolture lines particularly. I have lived at Banyo for almost 3 years and there has been no increase in the number of peak hour services on that line (I kept an old timetable from September 2006 as proof!).  When do we get a fair go?? If I miss the 7.23am from Shornecliffe, there is a 26 minute wait for the next train ... 26 Minutes wait in PEAK HOUR!! Unacceptable!!

Welcome Malakarim!  Yes indeed, when do we get more services on all lines.  As the new trains are progressively added things are slowly getting better.  There are still gaps on the many lines including Shorncliffe.  We have highlighted the problems on your line and will keep doing it.

A major timetable review is needed on the entire system.

15 minute frequency should be the absolute minimum standard for peak times for all stations in Greater Brisbane. Anything worse is a sick joke at the expense of commuters.

I'm already sick of the joke!
Evening peak service to Enoggera* 2007 - 7tph
Evening peak service to Enoggera* 2010 - 4tph
* departures from Central between 16:30 and 17:30.

Good luck Malakaram.  Have you asked your State Rep & get neighbours to do the same. Might as well use the State Reps - while we have them. Also, Has there been any articles in yr local paper to get a movment going - if theres enough would be vocal commuters.

One problem with Shorncliffe is the services do not match the demand. In the AM peak only two services arrive Central between 8am and 9am, yet 3 arrive between 9am and 10am!

Currently services arrive Central 7.20, 7.41, 7.58, 8.27, 8.39, 9.01, 9.17 then half hourly until the pm peak
Spacing is 21, 17, 29, 12, 22, 16 mins then half hourly

By poor co-incidence the long 29mins gap around 8am is at the time of peak demand.

Suggest timetable adjustment

arriving Central 7.20, 7.41, 7.58 no change
8.27 adjusted 14 mins earlier arriving 8.13
8.39 adjusted 11 mins earlier arriving 8.28
9.01 adjusted 14 mins earlier arriving 8.47
9.17 unchanged

Revised spacing becomes 21, 17, 15, 15, 19 mins then half hourly.

In the medium term we need additional services, however in the interim why not simply reschedule the existing train services to provide a 15 min AM arrivals to CBD either side of 8am. Note none of the three trains suggested for adjustment are through trains.

I believe making the 690 a BUZ service would be a good way to entice Redcliffe commuters to travel to Sandgate station and therefore create enough demand for 15-minute frequencies on the Shorncliffe line.

BUZ is a BT "labelling/brand" thing.

Increasing frequencies I agree with, but since 690 is operated by Hornibrook, I dont think it'll be called a BUZ if frequencies were ever increased.

Unless stated otherwise, Opinions stated in my posts are those of my own view only.

Well maybe it could be called a BUT service,
but if we did this instead of that, any vaciencies at Translink or SEQIP.

The name isn't important. I'm not saying it necessarily has to be branded as a BUZ service, I was simply using the term BUZ as a means of describing a high frequency bus service.  ::)
