Listened to the interview with much interest.

Mr Geoff Harley  Chairman of the TTA Board and Mr Peter Strachan CEO of TTA outlined a broad agenda for the TTA.

I did send an email of welcome to Mr Strachan which was acknowledged on air too.  Thanks Phil Smith, announcer on the Saturday Breakfast show.

Greetings Phil,

Delighted to hear Mr Peter Strachan CEO TTA will be on your show this
morning at 8.30am.  It has been a while but we are delighted that Peter
is now in the chair so to speak.

Please pass on our greetings to Peter.  Many public transport commuters
in Brisbane will be listening in with much interest!

Best wishes

Delighted to hear light rail mentioned and continuing emphasis on the Go Card and increasing uptake.  I think we all here at RAIL BoT agree that get the fares sorted (and the survey last year is a clear sign on the way) and uptake will surge.

We have previously acknowledged Mr Strachan's appointment:

Media Release 8 October 2008

Queensland:  CEO of the TransLink Transit Authority, Welcome!

RAIL Back On Track (http://backontrack.org) a web based community support group for rail and public transport and an advocate for public transport commuters has welcomed today's announcement by Transport Minister John Mickel of the appointment of Mr Peter Strachan as CEO of the TransLink Transit Authority.

Robert Dow, Spokesman for RAIL Back On Track said:

"It is a critical time for public transport in Queensland.  The appointment of Mr Peter Strachan as CEO of the TTA is welcomed by  RAIL Back On Track.  We have been concerned with the delay, but we are delighted to note the extensive rail and public transport background of Mr Strachan.  This we believe augers well for future public transport implementation and integration in Queensland."

"It is clear that rail public transport did go through a period where there was little proactive resourcing.  We are now seeing this turned around.  The formation of the TTA and now the appointment of a CEO with an extensive public transport background particularly in rail transport, we believe, clearly signifies a renewed emphasis on  light and heavy rail, the sustainable mass transit solution for the long haul."

"Rail will give the bulk capacity that is now needed more than ever."

"Welcome to Queensland Mr Strachan!"

I missed the first 2/3 of the interview, do you think there'll be a transcript or a recording made available?

ozbob

Yes, I am hoping it might go up as MP3 on Phil's Site at ABC.

I will email Phil at the ABC and ask if they intend to do it.
