Propped at Coorparoo, lots of buses inbound and outbound along Old Cleveland Road,  mainly air parcels today.  People must be waiting till 9pm tonight ...  :P

Couple of hours later around 6 - 10 pax on average on most of the buses. Excellent frequency along Old Cleveland Road, was once a very busy tram route ...  other vehicle traffic light ...

I like the 222  :-c It can get some big numbers boarding at kgs when it wants to.
coorparoo is really going ahead with the new woolies built and rumours of a new aldi going some where around that section or a bit further up towards camp hill.Needs more residential apartment developments near the stones cnr busway.

Only time you ever see a large number of pax at Mater Hill is 3-7pm heading outbound.  Heading inbound the next bus isn't far away so it's hard to build up a lot of waiting people.

The previous state govt bought the Coorparoo Myer building and in typical govt style, bungled the interim leasing on it. I recall a developer was shortlisted to redevelop the site - when the busway goes through.

The Eastern Busway was supposed to be built, but the previous state govt strangely enough decided not to add to state debt and build it. Shame, considering the project cost is rising each year.

There's also a sizable amount of pax heading outbound during school terms in the AM, transferring to Eastern suburbs services.

took p142 down to greenbank rsl today from city creek st stop and noted a near full p131 by creek st but near empty p137 (no surprise)

So.....at grand plaza on the inbouind 140 waiting for it to leave....turns out one of the bus drivers did a no no and left his money box unattended.A young teenager grabbed it and ran but thanks to quick obervation by another young passenger on the bus, he eventually caught up with the teen and scared him enough to make the kid drop the money box! Every passenger on our bus congratulated the young lad including both drivers. The bus driver who got his mbox snatched was breathing a sigh of relief!

I'm sure I saw for lease signs down there years ago as well (close to when it opened perhaps) but for whatever reason nothing ever went in there, which I couldn't understand because those spots would have been gold mines for sure!

I don't think Knight Frank was the previous agent.  Shopping it around perhaps.

They became a temporary home for SNOs until a new facility was built. One issue is that it can really smell bad back there, the pumps which remove excess water from the area (as it is built on a creek bed) are located in a room behind the kiosks.

That's the 4TH time this happened with the Volvo chassis-ed VST bodied buses.

I wonder if the union drivers of the affected companies will follow their QueenslandRail counterparts by refusing to drive them?  :conf :ttp:

General question, do trains have fire extinguishers on board?

Arnz

There are reports on the ATDB that a certain union is considering following their QueenslandRail counterparts by refusing to drive the VST bodied Volvo buses.

Looks like almost everywhere in SEQ is screwed PT-wise if their rail counterparts are successful in their appeal and the bus union follows their rail counterparts.

Yes, I think so, in the guard and driver areas.  But will check.

Yes, all trains have them onboard. They can be located in each cabin.

Strictly speaking this is an observation on the trains, but the bus interchange at Beenleigh station now appears to have its real-time Trip Tracker sign installed and running.

Chancellors Place at UQ used to have an annoying zebra crossing where buses would get held up both approaching the turnaround, and after it, due to people tricking across the road in an non stop stream.

Now we have lights:

I was involved in this accident this morning. No one was injured at all when the accident occured. Bus driver asked everyone including the victims from the 4 cars and everyone said they were fine, didn't even have signs of injuries. Until the paramedics arrived everyone lined up saying they had neck injuries and were shocked. Of course people would be shocked but don't try and get compensated for it - no wonder insurance is expensive! Out of those 50 people only 3 were determined injured and sent to hospital. Just the media jumping in with lots of different information like always.

The bus has cameras so that will show exactly what happened. I have photos as well - some people are saying the bus caused this. The bus was behind 4 cars and by looking at the photo it could be that the first car slowed down, red car tried to get out of the way while slowing down quickly and of course bus chipped the red while slowing down too. Everyone is in a rush!

I am thankful there was no major injuries to anyone.

ozbob

Glad you are fine Clinton.  Thanks for sharing the info ...

Contacted hornibrook today with regards to the 680 outbound from petrie 3.30 situation.
Once again today passengers had to be refused on the bus due to overcrowding.
this has happened the last 3 times I have used the service at this time.
The problem is clearly the 2 trains which arrive at Petrie 10mins apart and then the 680 arrives 5 mins after.
School buses are turning up at this time but students are not using them.
Clearly the majority of pax using this service are heading to north lakes and the school buses do not go there.
I have already put a complaint to translink and combined with the lack of adjustment on this route in the review I had no option but to contact hornibrook and get their side of the story and see if they are actually aware of the situation.
Left them my details, all going well I will get a reply back.

Isn't it just the absolute.... god damn.... jab a blunt pencil into my eye worst when they start to top up onboard that service. You know that some of them they have been waiting at the station

Ferny Grove interchange bus stop changes

Last updated: 8.39am Monday 18 March 2013

As part of the Ferny Grove to Keperra upgrade project, from Monday 25 March there'll be some stop changes for buses using the interchange.
Staying at stop A:

367 (Ferny Grove to Upper Kedron)

Moving to stop B:

    397 (Ferny Grove to Mitchelton)
    398 (Ferny Grove to Mitchelton)
399 (Samford Village to Ferny Grove station)
N390 (Fortitude Valley to Ferny Grove via Mitchelton)
905 (Ferny Grove to St Pauls and Strathpine Schools)
906 (Ferny Grove to Craigslea and Padua Schools)
910 (St Pauls School to Ferny Grove station)
912 (St Andrews to Ferny Hills Schools).

Will there be any changes to my timetable?

There will be no changes to your bus timetable.

In true Translink fashion though, there's now an A-Frame sign near the currently in use bus interchange that states all Brisbane Bus Lines service will begin using the new interchange from Thursday 21st (No Translink branding though). Which is fine seeing as they've turned on traffic lights for the bus exit over the weekend, so as far as I can see, there was nothing stopping buses using the new interchange today.

I was wrong, now it's true Translink fashion. The A-Frames I mentioned are still in place giving the Thursday date (I assume BBL themselves put those up?), but now there's Translink branded one at the bus stop as well giving the Monday date.

In terms of what actually happens, I know it's a bit of a "Who cares?" scenario but from a clarity of communications POV, it's pretty poor.
