Go take a hike



Constant feedback from users suggest off peak fares on the go card would be smart.  Good to see the LNP agree, Labor still against it by the look of things.  No off peak works against uptake of the go card.

This is odd, as I thought the new TTA legislation specifically mentions the requirement to determine a fares strategy and I'm pretty sure that involves consultation. None of this has occurred yet, so it seems odd (although not entirely surprising) that such a constraint would have been determined outside of this process and so explicitly rejected prior to the election (even if they are trying to look authoritative).

However, rather than having a discount for off peak, I think they should charge a surcharge for peak! I suppose this would be a creative way around that response in the paper if they ever want to introduce it! (ie 7-9am, 4-6pm).
