Qld Govt needs to mount a public education campaign about bridge strikes -- in the same way the public is encouraged, through advertising, to have a breast screening check, or look out for cyclists on the roads.  Campaign slogan: How high is your load?  Penalties apply.

The Queensland Rail ' performance data ' has still not been published since the January 2018 data.

https://www.queenslandrail.com.au/aboutus/ourperformance

I know the data exists for bridge strikes, SPADs etc. but for some reason it does appear the Govt is withholding it.

It is difficult not to assume they are hiding something and waiting for an appropriate time to try to bury it, like midnight on a Friday?

Maybe we should get this map updated hey?

I remember it's someone on here that owns it but not sure who. We can compile all the bridge strike service updates and put them onto here. Do their job for them.

We were maintaining it but our source for bridge strike details finished.  Wasn't possible to keep it going.

FYI - It is not uncommon at this time of day for late running services (even if only 3-4 minutes late) to run express from Zillmere to Northgate.
This particular service (ie the 6:46 Kippa-Ring to Springfield), is normally standing room only by Bald Hills Station. The previous train is 12 minutes prior, hence the regular overcrowding on this service.
Although the next service is just a 6 minute wait (assuming it is running on time), if this passenger wanted to catch a service to Springfield, they would have to change at Central and wait an additional 24 minutes.

^ thanks. The lack of satisfactory advice (service disruption) is the real issue.

QuoteLove how you send trains out during peak hours with an entire carriage unavailable to board because it was locked. Train was so crowded I couldn't board and ended up needing to wait for the next one.
I was at Carseldine. I believe it was the 7:46 train and it was the second carriage that was locked.

^ In all fairness, would they prefer no train at all?  That's the usual alternative.

Must be the only rail operator in Australia to cancel trains because too many people are trying to use services -- 'congestion on the network'  :fp:

tazzer9

Myself and alot of others are sitting here at Cleveland rather annoyed.  The 4:24 and 4:39pm trains were cancelled.  Worst part is the 4:54pm is a 3 car unit service as well.  Really pathetic.

I think they are actually referring to train congestion as opposed to too many passengers.
Trains out of position due to track fault etc.  congested sections.
Rather than running out of timetable they will pull a service ( or services ) to get the rest on time and good OTR ...  :dntk

This is correct. It's not about maintaining good OTR though, it's simply about getting the network flowing again.
