The 8.35am Caboolture to Albion train has been cancelled due to a mechanical issue.

The next Caboolture to Central train will depart Caboolture Station at 9.05am.

The 5.00pm Roma Street to Gympie North train is delayed 20 minutes due to a mechanical issue.

This train is now due to arrive at Bowen Hills Station station at 5.28pm. An additional stop has been added at Albion station, arriving at 5.30pm.

It wasn't the one of the clearest notices distributed, sending mixed messages just to add to the already confusing weekend with the track closures.

The train ran straight out of Mayne to Bowen Hills before turning around and heading north. I can't remember if the IMU100/120 replaced it and ran late as a result of the change or the issue was resolved and thus ran late as there were a few other issues with some units not too long before.

8 mins late on an outbound kippa ring station......was supposed to be at Carseldine by now....only just arrived northgate station.....wont hear about this delay because its less than 10mins...

edit: missed 680 connection 28 mins til next one.

The 6.55am Varsity Lakes to Central train will run express between Beenleigh and Park Road stations due to a door issue. The next Varsity Lakes to Central train will depart Beeneligh station at 7.41am.

Ha! I was heading out to Booval earlier this morning and I noted a freight train coming off the branch at Bundamba. Should have stuck around. Heading back to Booval I noted a lot of down and up trains. Asked staff what was going on said a failure on the crossing at Bundamba.

At Redbank noted two LE DEL down, assume had something to do with recovery of failed train.. Noted QR recovery crew still in location at Bundamba.

Nothing I expect.  At least today's problem would be a good lesson in recovery.

I did a brief interview on ABC Gold Coast just before 9am.  I said the tweets were good, but there needed to be better direct communication with passengers on platforms.  I spoke with SurfRail who was inbound on a flyer around 8am.  He said that was the one area that needs improvement.   I see the QR Facebook has some feedback about that too.

I just can't believe there's issues like this in a line that was completely closed for trackwork less than a fortnight ago.

As I understand it one of the OHT cables just snapped.  Rare event.  What does seem to occur a little bit more often is a dewirement, when the pantographs pull down the OHT wires.  These sort of issues are just a fact of life of OHT.  Albeit rare ...
