QuotePathetic Shorncliffe service continues. Not only you continue to provide substandard service with limited peak hour trains. The ones you send are the oldest of the fleet. Today's with no air con or lights needed a full restart at toombul in hopes of getting it back going (15mins late). So enjoyable with a carriage jammed packed of school kids due to no 7:41am train service STILL!!!!!!

that mon-thu gap has been the subject of quite a bit of frustration and it also sabotages a 691 service which is timetabled to meet the deleted train...but is now worthless.....peak only P315`s need to be brought back because of this crap.....im sure a few sandgate rd residents would like it too...

Interesting change in terminology.

I suspect most of these have been reported previously as ' mechanical issues ' or ' operational issues ' ...

I have to commend QR/Translink for the huge improvement in communication over the past week or so (after your chat Bob), it really is a simple thing that can really help out commuters

'Reasons' improvement but that's it. Still a massive flaw in what is classed as a late train and what gets relayed between QR guards/station staff and Translink.

The travelling public get the general impression that QR are only notifying translink if there is 10 minutes+ delay.....if you take a basic look at the TL twitter feed.

I have 'busted' QR multiple times for not relaying delays to translink and/or translink not submitting them to the app/social media.
My most recent missed connection was an hourly 101(attempted at both Oxley & richlands) from an unreported 9 minute delay on the springfield line.

ippy announcement just went from 18 minutes to 30 minutes late @ Sherwood.....all going well I can connect to 101 @ richlands.
immediate reasons on the TL twitter feed would be nice....

edit: missed the 101 by a country mile.....richlands train arrived 9 mins late....no station or social media announcements.....resulting in a 1 hour wait for 101 users...
8 or 9 minutes is a long frickin delay if you have a bus connection to make which only has a 4 - 6 minute connection window...
Are guards not getting paid enough to warrant making an effort to communicate delays under 10 minutes...seriously what is it??

You want to see effort in communication??...travel on the hornibrook buses.....during peaks the bus drivers are in constant communication back to base if they are running even just a few minutes late....at multiple timing points on their delayed route.
All I'm asking for is more 'effort' from QR/TL

Nope, that was on time AFAIAA.
I would be interested to know the operational reason why it was run early!

ozbob

There had been a unit withdrawn from service with a ' door fault ' earlier on which seemed to throw everything out for a while ..

"The 6.10pm Coorparoo to Central train has been cancelled due to heavy passenger loading.

The next Coorparoo to Central train will depart Coorparoo at 6.39pm."

How does a train get cancelled due to heavy passenger loading?

Did something like this occur?

The Cleveland Line really has been hit hard with service reductions!

ozbob

The only rational explanations I can come up with is that the train was already overloaded and they bypassed from Coorparoo in.

Or due to overloading on previous service the train ran late forcing the alteration?

I took a trip to landsborough today (the gympie north train that was the sunny coats train that proceeded this service) and all I can think of is what congestion.  The trains were eerily quiet.  Central and roma street were ghost towns.    At best all i can think of that all trains were required to use the mains due to trackwork near nundah.

And that would cause congestion on a Sunday, when the suburbans carry 4 tph per direction (2 each Airport & Shorncliffe, no Doomben services on Sundays)?

I call bs

Gross incompetence seems like a more likely explanation. And really, wouldn't it have been more appropriate to drop a Kippa Ring service than a Nambour one if it was completely necessary?
