This constant procession of ' mechanical issues ' is a very major concern now.

Remember some units were to be canabilised for parts by now.

It might be time to consider if some extra rolling stock (passenger carriages) can be obtained from some other 3'6" railway (Perth?  NZ?) to make up some train consists to supplement the services.  I think there are probably enough DELs in QLD.  These could be used as express Gold Coast supplemental services etc.

I volunteer the Ippy line for the only SX set we have left ..   

I recall Perth borrowed SX sets from Queensland for the America's Cup. The carriages remained in Perth for 4 years in service before being returned to Queensland.

For interest.  This was fantastic.  This train moved a lot of the animals from the old RSPCA facility at Fairfield to new facilities at Wacol.

Theres been lots of delays today that haven't been reported by Translink. As I write this the current 4.35-Caboolture-Ipswich service is still running 12 minutes late after arriving late at Caboolture. A couple other Caboolture/Kippa Ring services have been running late today aswell. Apparently the Cairns bound tilt was hunting it down very quickly towards Caboolture.

Anyway that train departed Ipswich late due to the previous Ipswich bound service being very late. Also heard that there was a possible issue with securing the drivers cab door on the IMU for the trip back.

edit: The 6.30 Ipswich-Caboolture service left Ipswich 6 minutes late due to the late running of the 4.35 Caboolture-Ipswich service (also an IMU).

As this thread well demonstrates.  When pushed the answers are there, albeit a little surprising some times.

Operational issue = crewing issue, late train, freight train fu%ked,  EMU fu%ked again, etc. etc.
