Ferny Grove Line is a mess this evening. Multiple late services, and the 4:07 from Roma St to FG is expressing all stations except Mitchelton. Following service will be overloaded carnage for passengers who may have endured up to a 29 min wait. Taking the 390 home instead!

At the request of police, Cleveland line trains are suspended in both directions between Wellington Point and Cleveland stations. Customers can expect delays of up to 30 minutes.

Yesterday evening ..

Brisbanetimes --> Train trips overhead wires creating 'major congestion' on inner-city tracks

Queensland Rail commuters can expect residual delays of 45 minutes after a disabled train just outside Roma Street station clogged the network.

The train was towed away and power problems fixed just after 7.30pm, but not before the backlog affected the entire network.

Commuters heading south can expected up to an hour of delays as Queensland Rail crews work to tow away a disabled train, which is sitting just outside Roma Street station.

The train caused a "trip" in the overhead wires, leaving it stranded in the middle of Brisbane and creating a backlog of southbound trains.

A Queensland Rail spokeswoman said it had caused "major congestion".

At 7.30pm southbound Ipswich and Springfield line trains delayed up to 60 minutes, while Beenleigh, Cleveland and Gold Coast line trains were delayed up to 40 minutes.

"We have crews working hard to fix it and apologise to customers for the inconvenience," the spokeswoman said.

Lots of people wearing Maroon gear waiting on the platform at Cooroy and inside the loco-powered southbound replacement Tilt from Bundaberg -- wondering whether they will get to Brisbane on time tonight.  Also people heading to Brisbane Airport worried about catching international flights.  The train's cars sit on the mainline, which is blocked.

Its loco has been uncoupled and sent further south to assist a train that's broken down a short distance south of Cooroy.  Passengers have been told to expect another hour's delay, which means a 6.55pm arrival in Brisbane, or thereabouts.
