Ipswich and Rosewood line trains in both directions have resumed regular schedule between Rosewood and Ipswich stations following an earlier boom gate strike at Karrabin station.

Aren't most Airport-Gold Coast trains IMUs? I didn't realise IMUs had such a reliability problem, I thought it was ICEs, EMUs and SMU200s that were plagued with reliability issues.

A lot of hybrids of late running around on the Ippy eg. 160 3 car / 260 3 car. (these are for the through Nambour services)

I think these have been on the GC too as well as the older IMUs.

QR reduced services on the pretext of reliability, sadly, the system is not reliable and the effects compound because of the poor frequency.

So how do other cities manage it?  The City Circle in Sydney certainly doesn't get shut down on a weekly basis, and it sees a lot more and heavier trains.

If they can't maintain their infrastructure without causing rampant delays, they are doing something wrong, but that is currently par for the course whenever QR puts their hands on anything...

^ can also stuff connections.  Still, Queensland Rail has previously indicated with the Easter rail fail timetable that the notion of an integrated network doesn't matter to them.
