Well done TransLink on informing customers at 5:27pm that the 4:59pm from Roma St to Ferny Grove was cancelled. Bit late? By the way the following train was full to capacity.

The 503 was cancelled and the 511 was packed. But the airport train -459? - was terminated at Bowen Hills.

Not a good look for Airtrain. Not helpful for intending flyers either.

As we have said, bumbling along like this is just going to lead to major grief all round.

Time to cut the losses, revert back to the pre-RPL timetable and layer shuttles on RPL.

This is going to become very nasty as is ...

the randomness of these cancellations is what`s concerning......can be any line at any time...workers essentially have to be at the station an extra 30mins earlier than usual just in case their regular service is cancelled.....

ozbob

^ yes, the system is now very unreliable.  It was tracking along fine before RPL.  Data here > https://railbotforum.org/mbs/index.php?board=73.0

Queensland Rail are basically collapsing towards their demise.  It will not be turned around with the hotchpotch ' interim ' timetables that are just service cuts and non delivery of services.

It is now very unlikely that ALP will be returned in Government (they just do not get the damage that is being done).  LNP with a collection of odd bods will more than likely end up Government.  The first thing they will do is float off Queensland Rail citing the present meltdown as reason enough.

The problem is the effects on the community at large as Queensland Rail is broken up.  Some might say well it couldn't get much worse than the shambles at present, and they perhaps have a point.

Is there a conspiracy plot to ensure Queensland Rail does fail?  Well they do not seem to being doing the obvious things to get back on track ...   :fp:

Another journey interrupted by a bridge strike  :steam: Seriously, anyone capable of hitting a bridge with a vehicle should have their licence removed immediately  :fp: And NEVER get it back! Bit of a worry too when the driver of the bus I boarded at Indooroopilly to continue the journey, didn't seem to know where his bus was going.....

10 mins delay: all train services (except Gold Coast line)

All train services travelling outbound will be delayed for up to 10 minutes due to an earlier bridge strike. The Gold Coast line train will be running on time.

===================================

Looks like the network can't even deal with a bridge strike now! Oh dear!
Is it really that hard to run frequent, reliable public transport?

Once again a BT bus had to be towed from Aspley after breaking down in the middle of arvo peak hour. One of the newer ones too.

Was this Annerley Road or somewhere else?  When I passed over it on the way home, there was a truck which had been intercepted by the beam north of the bridge and had been ripped up pretty good - nice to see something working right for a change!
