Great to hear! Hopefully he has the book thrown at him, although I do have my doubts that it will happen.

LOL !

Most of the points failures, signal faults, track faults and the like are actually telemetry failures.

I have suggested reporting a fault as a ' track ' fault when it is really a telemetry failure is not really sending the right message.  An average punter might thing the track itself is constantly breaking down and failing and so forth.  Broken rails, true track faults, and the like do occur on occasions but relatively rarely compared to telemetry failures.

Exactly - makes you worry about the maintenance levels of the actual tracks.

My preference would be "points telemetry failure", as telemetry is seen (to me at least) as the data sent back from a V8 supercar or F1 car to the pits.

Let's see if the next one is reported correctly, or if the tweet was a just a mistake which let the public see a little bit of light in the otherwise dark hole we are kept in  ;D

SurfRail

I don't think the average person cares - I certainly don't.  An asset failure is an asset failure whether it's an overhead wedge clamp, or a boom gate, or a points motor, or a cable, or water penetration in the signalling.

Short of something like trees, obstacles or flooding on the lines, QR is responsible for keeping its safeworking and lineside equipment functional in all weather and I couldn't care less what their excuse is for why things fail so often.  They need to sort this stuff out.

I care.  The point of failure correctly identified might actually help to get systems that are more reliable.

My friend is at Geebung for a 20-25 minute "pit stop" (her description I think).

Offered to go get her, just have to wait for her independent nature to give in.  :P

techblitz

rumour going around it has something to do with signal cables being dug up or hit underground....

red dragin

Optic cable was taken out somewhere at 3.50pm today.

Moreton Bay Council phones and systems went belly up because of it.

This is the cause of the MBRC issues. I suspect it's related to QR.

Was an OPTUS fibre cable, has a few air gaps apparently.
