Queensland Rail

At approximately 2.22pm an overhead power line was reported down in the Buranda area. This issue has resulted in the overhead power being isolated and trains unable to proceed.

Linesmen are currently onsite at both locations rectifying the issues, and repair work is expected to be completed by 2am Thursday morning.

As a result, trains are now suspended between Park Road and Murrarie. To assist our customers, buses are operating between Park Road and Murrarie; and a train shuttle service is operating between Cleveland and Murrarie.

Cleveland line customers have been advised to board the Beenleigh 'all stations' train and travel from the city through to Park Road, to connect with a replacement bus service.

Customers travelling inbound for stations beyond Park Road will need to change to an 'all stations' Ferny Grove bound train at Park Road.
For our outbound commuters, trains on the Beenleigh line will run through Park Road platforms 3 and 4 and stop at all stations. Gold Coast bound passengers who board a Beenleigh service from South Brisbane, South Bank and Park Road can detrain at Moorooka and board a Gold Coast service from there.

Gold Coast - Airport trains are running express between Roma Street and Moorooka via the Tennyson loop.

As a result, customers travelling on the Cleveland line and Beenleigh lines will experience delays of an hour or more. Customers travelling on the Gold Coast – Airport line will be delayed by 15 minutes or more.

The rest of the network will experience delays of over 15 minutes as a result of the issues.

Cleveland line trains are currently suspended in both directions between Park Road and Murarrie stations due to an overhead power issue at Buranda station.

Technicians will be working onsite overnight to restore services.

Passengers needing to travel to stations between Park Road and Cleveland stations should catch the Beenleigh or Park Road train from Roma Street and connect with a replacement bus service conveying passangers between Park Road and Cleveland.

Delays of up to 30 minutes are expected.

At the request of police Beenleigh and Gold Coast line trains are suspended in both directions between Altandi and Kuraby stations. Customers can expect delays of up to 60 minutes.

At approximately 1:40pm, we were advised a person had been struck by a train south of Runcorn station.

Police, emergency services and Queensland Rail response units are on site.

We are working with police to investigate the incident and we are unable to speculate on the circumstances.

As a result of the incident, buses are replacing trains between Altandi and Kuraby stations. Delays of up to 60 minutes are expected.
