Not sure how it's going now but when I went through around 5:30pm the gates were still being fixed. Trains were ok but all traffic was being diverted via Tramway and Arbor. Police directing traffic at the two sets of traffic lights involved on Samford Rd but not at the intersection between Arbor and Tramway which generated most of the traffic. Traffic was queued back to Upper Kedron Rd at that point.

Pretty impressive what they seem to be managing to pull off on the FG line in terms of avoiding cancellations and delays with the new timetable. Wasn't paying too much attention to precisely what time it was but I arrived around 7:40-ish to see the units that would normally have formed the 7:47am service arrive (arrived P2 instead of the usual P1). Pax boarded and as per usual the empty running service that would form the 7:55am service arrived. As the empty service was pulling in, all pax deboarded the 7:47 service (I didn't hear an announcement but assume one was made onboard, a fault of some type I presume) and hopped on the empty service which used a crew swap (now standard at FG) to do a 1 minute turn around and leave basically on time.

So no service cancelled or delayed, all that happened was they need to get the faulty unit moving at some point.

It's good that delays now only last half as long as they used to, given the frequency upgrade.

My bus, 344, just got diverted around that boomgate, and is currently stuck in traffic trying to find an alternative way to Newmarket Road. I saw the trains going through at the prescribed 5km/h. Unfortunately for buses that go that way, there is no easy way to divert past it.
