Time for RACQ to demonstrate greater support for bridge strike infrastructure remedies -- a case of expenditure on rail having direct benefits for road users and the road transport sector.  They have supported things such as overpasses in the past, but this is a case of a ROAD over RAIL, therefore the solution is an elevated road, the province of the RACQ.  In the event of RAIL over ROAD (underpass), the government expenditure bucket is the rail budget, much smaller than the road funds bucket.  The difference should be removed.  RACQ lobbying of government would help.

Noted a Shorncliffe train shown on the PIDS at Central as scheduled to depart at 7:25pm this evening and run express from Bowen Hills to Northgate. There is no such service in the timetable, and the Doomben service that arrive before it was held to allow it to pass at Central (to give it greens rather than ride reds/yellows). I presume this was to allow it to get back on time from a previous delay, however I found it odd that instead of the usual occurrence which is to have the PID keep the original timetabled departure time and show it as delayed they changed it to the estimated departure time.

While it was announced as running express, while I was there I heard no announcement saying that this was a delayed service just that it was running express. Hopefully announcements were made early enough at the stations to be skipped that any Shorncliffe bound pax could catch the previous service and change at Northgate.

Happened again this morning, with the 7:25am 3 car service suffering a mechanical fault as well in P2 at FG. Once again, didn't seem to impact on trains leaving FG on time with some quick turn arounds in P1, though may have delayed outbound services a little waiting for the platform to clear.

Ipswich and Springfield line trains have resumed following an earlier police request to suspend services. The following trains are delayed as a result:

    The 12.07pm Ipswich to Central train is delayed 10 minutes and is now due to arrive at Central station at 1.15pm
    The 11.58am Central to Ipswich train is delayed 20 minutes and is now due to arrive at Ipswich station at 1.15pm.

Arrived at Darra ex Springfield Central and noted around 12 QPS platform 4 Darra 2 on platform 3.  Down Caboolture service arrived held.  Eventually pax from that train transferred to next down Caboolture which arrived on platform 3.  Shortly thereafter up Ippy arrived platform 2, up Springer platform 1.  Managed to get a short vid of a parallel departure from Darra.  Up Springfield out of one, Up Ippy out of two .. not sure who or what QPS looking for ..
