Not sure how badly delayed the service before it was, but I turned up at FG at around 8:20am, just as the train to form the 8:07am express was pulling in. It still ran express, wasn't really delayed at Mayne and was an IMU with toilets to boot! I'm assuming there was obviously some service shuffling to limit delays.

There was something before as well about a Bowen Hills - Richlands service and then the returning Richlands - Bowen Hills also being cancelled for the same reason.

Yeah, there was a 'police incident' earlier today, and we were already short on crews, so that complicated things a bit more! So this would be the on-going effects of that problem earlier.

At a recent CRG meeting, they indicated that they would no longer be using the generic "police incident" for cases like this - where someone was actually struck by a train.  They would instead tell it like it was (i.e. "due to a person being struck by a train".)

With the news and announcements at Central indicating that a person has been struck by a train - but the Translink website simply saying "police incident", I'm wondering if Translink is being the stop-out when it comes to communication?

The other thing they at the CRG meeting was that announcements would be standard across all outlets.  I guess that's a bit hard when Translink "censors" the announcements.

We had the same at our CRG, though I thought I remember him saying they still wanted to avoid reporting suicides/attempted suicides?
