Map --> here!

Just the usual confusion.

If you look at the map you have the top most curve line going around towards Sherwood.  My guess is that there was a fault on that section of the line.  Trains can still run into Corinda. Reverse and carry on.  One day we did that on a down out of Oxley (the opposite). I was in the first carriage leaving Oxley and arrived at Roma St in the last carriage.  Due to some point issues we went through Corinda and onto the Tennyson line.  Crew swapped ends and we went back into Sherwood and then onto town.

Not exactly sure what you're saying here. As has been said elsewhere, Gold Coast and Beenleigh trains are running via Ipswich line this weekend due to trackwork on the inner south. Therefore, trains are running around the Sherwood Loop, which is quite close to Corinda, so they're just saying Corinda (especially since a lot of the Sherwood Loop is in/closer to Corinda anyway).

Trains were heading to Oxley for a while to turnback. Probably reverted to Corinda later, although it depends on what trains/how many trains were around as to whether they could all turn back at Corinda or not.
All opinions stated are my own and do not reflect those held by my employer.

Corinda used to be called South Brisbane Junction (changed to Corinda in 1888).  We could have really muddied the blog waters if there was one ... lolol

Ouch!  That is indeed possible, but I think only in one direction (outbound).

No wukkas :) This is the third broken rail (that i've heard about) in the last month or so... There was a severe one between Darra and Oxley a few weeks back, one at Beenleigh the other day (Thursday by memory) then this one today...

I assume this is a road issue and not a rail issue ?  ???
Perhaps just good communication from Queensland Rail to assist road users in the area, and not part of TL's responsibility.

By what I have been told from a friend at work, there is a points failure at Redbank.
All opinions stated are my own and do not reflect those held by my employer.

ozbob

Anyone know what the actual failure is?  Is it motors,  or circuits, and so forth?  I doubt if the rail itself is failing.

Not overly sure, although it could be the remote connection to Control not working properly, so Control can't call the points into the correct position.

Gotta love Translinks lack of information when what is pretty much a shuttle line effects a whole corridor.

The pair of them, TransLink and Queensland Rail really need to get their act together. Customer focus?  HAHHA  Erail, hit and miss, usually differs from TransLink.  Queensland Rail has an auto retweet function on TransLink tweets, so the mis-communications are magnified rapidly.  And then radio announcers read out the messages which many accept as literal.

Some times they don't even bother notifying that there are issues!

Yes, sometimes their service interuption advice is quite poor. Though good to see the online notices now include a 'Last updated' timestamp to give you an idea of how current any delays are.
There is no silver bullet... but there is silver buckshot.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

If they started charging for these they'd probably make enough on the top to pay for the trackwork each year...
