Quote from: Simon on March 21, 2012, 10:51:40 AMI've always found it less good here.

We may be travelling on different networks I think.  :)

I tend to always get caught on the Western or South lines for some reason (2 of the last 3 trips down there involved detraining at Granville, including one emergency due to failed overhead).  Apart from the general state of manners of the average Sydneysider, the vehicles and speed with which they are dispatched is less than impressive, even for scheduled rail replacement.

The purpose of the weekend shutdown of lines for maintenance had to do with improving train reliability by checking and fixing signalling, points etc.  This past year, train delays due to some track or equipment failure seem to have got worse, the odd kamikaze pigeon not withstanding.

EMU73 and partner found its way on one of the shuttle runs this afternoon too (due to a faulty IMU unit earlier).  Not suprisingly it was 5 mins late (due to the EMU's slower speed) before the track fault hit.

These issues too frequent on this line.  Regular maintenance doesn't seem to pick these things up.  Or is the maintenance irregular?
