Inbound train delays (Central)

Some services travelling inbound to Central Station and surrounding stations may be delayed up to 10 minutes, after a mechanical fault with a service at Central Station causing congestion.

woohoo first time on a train in two weeks now stuck at milton because of a train broken down at roma street that has to be towed clear of the platform accoding to the guard on the 7.55am from oxley - I reckon that if there is a (insert expletive) messed up train or situation impacting on the Ipswich Line I will find it!!! - delay was only 12 or so minutes in the end but was late to my first appointment for the day.

All major now.  Because of a problem at Northgate?

What I mean is that a problem at Northgate shouldn't cause so much disruption.  So long as Shorncliffe bound terminates at Bowen Hills and goes back to Mayne, the suburbans should be otherwise unaffected.

ozbob

Now at Goodna rail, the UP Ippy due at 9.05am went through at 9.15am, 10 minutes adrift.  Nothing yet on the next down ...

Light but steady rain already here, forecast is for the weather to get progressively worse throughout the day.  I think it will be one of those days ...

Two minute warning for the down, on time (due 9.27am). Sigh of relief from the 100 odd pax here at Goodna rail ...

Stillwater

Alt transport can't operate between Gympie and Pomona, as Bruce Highway cut at two locations south of Gympie.  Hopes of alternative route between Gympie and Sunshine Coast via Mary Valley Highway to Kenilworth and from there to Eumundi, although height of water in gullies not known.  The Normanby Bridge over the Mary River is open, allowing both sides of Gympie to be connected again.

It would seem a strange term, but a freight train is 'bogged' near Traveston, blocking the single track line.  It travelled into water where the ballast had been washed out and became 'bogged'.  The track washout at Cooroy will be repaired, hopefully, by 7pm tomorrow (Monday).  Hopes that Gympielander (either train or bus substitute) will be operating Tuesday morning, weather permitting.  Cairns Tilt Train is sitting at Gympie North station.

HappyTrainGuy

The PN freight that was en route to the north had to detach from the front, reversed on the track opposite and recoupled to the rear before making the trip back to Brisbane with the driving cab at the wrong end. Visability would have been excellect with the whole engine in your line of sight :P

Yeah, but I also have to get to uni as well - Production Management with a on time turn up mark, knowing how long it took yesterday for tests and past experience waiting for the Doctor to see you, I don't want to take any chances.  Plus likely traffic will be bad heading in.

O_128

What's the "overhead issue" and why does every line come grinding to a halt. Surely the south Brisbane terminating services will fix this yes?
"Where else but Queensland?"

Stuck at Nundah on US. Have seen 2 trains on UM go by.

Perhaps this train SHOULD have terminated at Northgate!

Edit: 3 trains on UM now!

Edit 2: Toombul now, overtaken by a 4th train on UM.

Edit 3: guard finally suggests moving to the other platform might result in a quicker trip to the city. Masses rushed over to platform 3.

Edit 4: Wooloowin. Overtaken by 5 trains now.

Edit 5: Albion. 6 trains now. If we got to Central now, we'd be an hour and 10 minutes late.

Edit 6: still at Albion. 7 trains. I would've lost count had I not been posting here.

General Service meltdown.

Busway network overloaded at Park Road this morning. So much for busway capacity!

Something needs to be done critical components in the core - if one thing fails, the entire system fails.
This is what happens when you have convergent networks, rather than decentralised ones.
