The note's been updated.

QuoteInbound Sunshine Coast and Caboolture Line trains are up to 16 minutes behind schedule this morning, due to a previous freight train experiencing a mechanical fault between Eudlo and Mooloolah and causing delays.

The 5.16am Roma St - Nambour service is 13 minutes delayed. This service is expected to arrive at Central at 7.57am.
The 5.50am Nambour - Central train is 16 minutes delayed. This service is expected to arrive at Central at 8.02am.

Although I still lol at the first one.  No such service in the timetable. (IIRC the nearest service is either the 5:25am inbound from Nambour or the 5:21am outbound from Roma Street!)

Single Line Track issue.

My report received from a commuter who normally catches the 5:25am train from Nambour to Roma St, was that it became the 5:50am train from Nambour to Roma St. after the buses failed to arrive.

This is utterly disgraceful.  Why with all these weekend possessions of entire stretches of line are the critical works not being done?

I have been told by QR staff that train gangs no longer walk along the tracks identifying problems, due to safety issues. Nor are they based close to outlying major centres. It's failure that triggers a response.

As an aside, I can confirm that fare gates are being installed at Nambour station.

Have to wonder if Landsborough are getting their fare gates?  They do carry 40%+ of the Sunshine Coast Line peak hour train commuter traffic.

Again, something they neglect to mention as part of these delays is the impact to inner south side pax wanting to head north. I went to South Bank station, just after the 4.26pm FG service left, and noted the 4.46pm Mitchelton service was absent from the PIDs. I caught a Airport service to Roma St and ended up catching the timetabled RS starting FG express, but did note that the Mitchelton service was up on the PIDs there.

As a plus, this does seem to indicate that they can now delete cancelled services from the new PIDS which is a plus, though I think it may be more useful to leave it in the list but mark it as cancelled instead of the expected time of arrival. Heck, with the new screens, they could probably even give a short reasoning as to why it was cancelled.
There is no silver bullet... but there is silver buckshot.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Just heard from QR, that Manly to Murrarie disruption that happened last week was caused by a tree falling onto the overheads.

Didn't see the actual issue tweeted but CAB services had issues earlier, but it's on their websites (Maybe they don't tweet if the issue delay is estimated at <~5mins)

QuoteSvenNotnop: @QueenslandRail So yu give us a muffin & water to apologise for 2 hr delay on Friday night and now.Delayed again . Joke right #qrdailyfail
QueenslandRail: @SvenNotnop Apologies, what service are you on?
SvenNotnop: @QueenslandRail caboolture save the apologies like everyone else on this line tired of them provide service for the 15 % more #qrdailyfail
QueenslandRail: @SvenNotnop Delays due to an earlier police incident. @TransLinkSEQ are responsible for setting fares across all public transport.

QuoteTrack fault at Petrie

Don't they trim the trees back to prevent this?  Was there a storm?

I believe it was the whole tree and not just a few branches that caused this.

Caboolture and Sunshine Coast trains were suspended for a while this afternoon due to a boom arm strike at Geebung.

Also, Cleveland line trains are/were suspended between Lindum and Manly with buses running between due to a power issue..
All opinions stated are my own and do not reflect those held by my employer.

We had our guard on the 4pm service apologise on QueenslandRail's behalf due to a "idiot driver" (his words) hitting the boomgates at Geebung earlier this afternoon.  At least we got home safely however, and we were kept up to date.  The guard at least had some sense of humor which got chuckles from throughout the train.

Our guard or driver kept the 5:00pm service very well informed on the delays also.  :-t
Full marks to QR for doing a sterling job getting us home.

I reckon that the small truck's driver (from eye witness account), if shown to be negligent, should be sent the complete bill for the repairs.
Perhaps Government should consider excluding boom gate collisions, where the driver is at fault, from insurance policies.
It would mean drivers would take more care knowing it will cost them big (uninsured) money.

A track vehicle has derailed at Roma St apparently (report 612 ABC radio), this means will be significant delays in the later morning peak.  I think platform 8 Roma St and 5 Central out of action for time being.
