Me thinks the blue twitter bird is afraid of delays along certain sections of track, and so is kept in its cage.

I hope the media take note of the unusual habit by TransLink and QR to NOT issue Twitter 'tweets' on Caboolture and Sunshine Coast lines with any degree of consistancy.
It isn't a weekend this time (referring to the 18 December, 2011 mystery delays that went unreported), so what is the reason?

Train stopped just north of Landsborough due to flooding, no trains moving! No tweets as per usual!
Train reversing back to Landsborough where buses will be provided.

ERail alert only just received by commuter on this train at 6:48pm, and way too late to make alternative arrangements, and well after the event.  :thsdo

Train eventually allowed to proceed once waters had abated.
My thanks go out to QR staff who did a great job in getting us all home  :-t

However, the continual non-dislosure or delay of information related to major Sunshine Coast delays warrants an investigation.

Due to an earlier train breakdown at Fortitude Valley station, delays of up to 15 minutes may be experienced on the Ipswich/Rosewood, Richlands, Cleveland, Beenleigh and Gold Coast train lines.

Also slight delays for north bound trains on the subs which had to wait at FV while Ipswich/Richlands services crossed from the mains to the subs. Only a minute or two, but it did seem to be getting progressively worse as trains built up behind.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

The next rowboat will be departing platform X in...

I'm actually surprised nothing has happened at Ferny yet... The dog park was covered in water but nothing was flowing under the bridge by the looks (Wouldn't be surprised if its blocked and the water is building up again...)

Golliwog

When I went through at about 6.30 the road bridge just before FG station on Samford Rd had maybe 0.5m free board? The water hadn't started using the culverts alongside it yet. I was on the wrong side to see the dog park so can't compare that with you. I suppose Shorncliffe suffering could have something to do with Redcliffe getting 182mm of rain since 9am this morning...

A public announcement was made at Central station moments before the 5:04pm train arrived, saying that services would be stopping at Mooloolah due to local flooding. No further announcements were made on the train, so if you didn't get on at Central you had no idea about the delay. An eRail alert was NOT issued until 6:48pm, and this only after public comments were made here on RBoT.
Further, NO Twitter tweets were issued on this SC event, when normal practise is to do so.

Why?

Yes, trains stopped between Landsborough and Mooloolah, then reversed back to Landsborough.
1 hour delay caused by water over tracks at Mooloolah. Service then waited until later train, 5:28pm came through and all pax got onto 5:04 service.
QR did very well during the whole flood event, a credit to their staff.

However the non issue of alerts until way too late and NO tweets is becoming regular, why?

Communication does seem to be haphazard at times.  Give them some direct feedback, I am sure they are reading this as well.
