Ipswich line delays

Due to a boom arm fault at Rosewood, train services on the Ipswich/Rosewood line are terminating at Walloon. Buses are being arranged to transport passengers between Rosewood and Walloon stations. Passengers can expect delays of up to 30 minutes.

That was a fun ride. They did good and announced it, even the station announcement at Ferny Grove before it left had it as an all stopper. Jam packed though. I don't know if many managed to get on past Alderley. From where I was I saw at least half a dozen at Windsor who weren't bothering to even trying going up and down to other carriages, it was full. It was one of the new SMU's though so it was at least not an uncomfortable ride.

On another note, they have now started announcing the closure of South Brisbane station on the trains.

Police are searching for a truck driver who scraped his B-double truck under two Goodna underpasses before fleeing from the scene of the accident on foot.

The truck driver had been travelling west along the Ipswich Motorway before exiting the road and travelling under the underpass.

The top of the truck then hit both the railway underpass and the motorway underpass, tearing the top off both the prime-mover and both trailers.

After the trucks scraped under both bridges the driver abandoned the car on Woogarro St and fled on foot in a direction unknown by police.

A street light was broken on the road bridge which otherwise only sustained paint scrapings.

Queensland Rail workers inspected the damage to the rail bridge, clearing it for usage.

Local Councillor Paul Tully this afternoon repeated his calls for warning  ''dangles'' before both bridges to warn drivers of the 3.8 metre height of the underpass.

Cr Tully said it is believed the driver had arrived from New Zealand only two weeks ago.

Police are still searching for the driver.

A three-car accident on the Story Bridge is causing delays for commuters travelling into the CBD this morning.

An Australian Traffic Network spokesman said traffic was banked up back to Lytton Road, Kangaroo Point as a result of the accident that occurred about 8.15am.

The accident has not yet been cleared.

Meanwhile, Queensland Rail has completed work on a broken rail at Central Station but inbound commuters will still experience delays throughout the morning.

A Queensland Rail spokesman said the rail fault at platform one was fixed at about 7.35am but platform two was still closed, leading to delays of up to 10 minutes for some inbound trains
