The SEQ heavy rain this morning has impacted our rail services that returned today - Ipswich & Ferny Grove lines as well as Valley & Central stations have water over the line.

Crews are out working to fix issues. @QueenslandRail have stopped trains temporarily to assess damage.

By what i've bee told, there was significant flooding of the maintenance sheds at Mayne which is likely still being fixed, which would result in much less ability to maintain the fleet. NGRs would also be under significant pressure due to the line to Wulkuraka being out of action from the landslip at Ipswich.
While it isn't ideal, I think running a 3car train is better than no train at all under the circumstances, don't you think?

You do realise trains require maintenance and inspections to keep them running, yeah? Quite likely that none of those trains sitting in the depot are currently available to run if they haven't been able to have their inspections.
Maybe next time QR should just cancel the train in that case. They get yelled at either way.

Rollingstock positioning is out of whack due to network closures to outside stabling facilities so some services were split to provide the numbers required. Elimbah was also closed. Large number of NGR out of action due to stabling on the Gold Coast line. Should mostly be resolved tomorrow.

Rollingstock positioning is out of whack due to network closures to outside stabling facilities so some services were split to provide the numbers required. Elimbah was also closed. Large number of NGR out of action due to stabling on the Gold Coast line. Should mostly be resolved tomorrow.

Another report of a severely overcrowded am peak 3-car unit on the Ferny Grove Line yesterday (Wednesday). I'll be taking the bus for the rest of this week!

Couple faults out there this morning. There's a IMU160/260 combo running on the Ipswich line with only the first 3 carriages operational due to a fault with the trailing 160. This in turn is having a small delay with the shadowing Nambour service which if I'm not mistaken has already had an issue with a couple doors on that set which should now be isolated (also a 160 for reference).
