this is getting f*ing ridiculous ozbob......
I caught the 10.03 ex roma st to Caboolture...arrived caboolture 9 minutes late......my hourly 640 had already left......over 50 minute wait for the next bus...

I'm only ever having trouble with my conenctions when I have no other choice but to involve rail........my bus-bus conenctions are almost flawless.....pretty much everywhere......really starting to p%ss me off these little 6-10minute QR delays.....

The 11.10am Coopers Plains to Central train is cancelled from Coopers Plains to Roma Street due to a signalling issue. The next Coopers Plains to Central train is due to depart Coopers Plains Station at 11.25am.

There was a recent complaint on TL FB in regards to the 600 > 609 connections. Connecting between a "hourly coverage service" (609) and a "high frequency trunk service" (600) can be problematic.  In her case it was a  50 min wait between the 600 and 609. 

Her suggestion of increasing the 609 to every 30 mins during 'peak periods' was "shot down".

if its a 15 minute into hourly...they are just going to tell her to jump on a 600 15 minutes earlier.....people off-peak connecting at caboolture don't have this 15 minute option....so if that half hourly train is late.....640 users are stuffed...

Comment still stands arnz......I have a far higher confidence level when it doesn't involve rail....half the blame to QR for all of their irritating delays and half to translink for inadequate timetabling....both equally blamed for poor communication between modes..

How is it that I can regularly make a 1 minute bus-bus window for the 680/327 at Strathpine plaza yet cant make a bus with 5 minute rail to bus window plus an added 4 minute bus departure leeway.....a connection which was witnessed failing 3 times in a row today.....which has now eroded almost all my confidence on connecting into the offpeak 640's in the future...
I specifically use that route in the offpeak....which is what we are enticed to do...avoid travelling in peaks..

Back to QR.......Going by ozbobs daily posts on rail delays it looks relatively fine and dandy right? Wrong......there are so many train delays up to 9 minutes that aren't getting reported......even the imu that took me back to petrie from Caboolture today broke down for 7 minutes at petrie....

Yo TB.  The threshold for reporting seems to be 10 minutes.  A lot of services that run late say 7 or 8 minutes adrift cause issues for ongoing connections. These are not reported.

It is not good.  And requests for a better service frequency are met with ' patronage doesn't warrant an increase ' .  Can you blame the punters?

There seems no real ability for the operator to bring an extra as a rule.  Probably due to the peak congestion on the main corridor I suppose.  Perhaps they need to park a 3 car out Doomben way as a peak back up or something.

It is time the chain of poor service = poor patronage was broken.

It's now all NGR and Doomben has had its track and station layout reconfigured as has ascot which has removed a passing/holding loop.
