Train services in south-east Queensland are being delayed up to two hours as a signal fault throws the network into chaos.

Trains are suspended in both directions on the Airport and Doomben Lines with warnings of two-hour delays.

Translink said alternative transportation is being organised.

On the Caboolture, Ferny Grove, Redcliffe, Shorncliffe and Sunshine Coast lines trains are delayed up to an hour.

There are warnings of 30-minute delays on the Beenleigh, Cleveland, Gold Coast, Ipswich, and Springfield lines.

Translink said the delays are being caused by a signalling fault at Eagle Junction on Brisbane's north.
