Or was the freight train in front of the GympieLander a bit too slow or too long to be parked on a passing loop? Longer freight trains are being run on the NCL now. Maybe some thought should be given to joining up a couple of passing loops so there is a good length of duplicated track for trains to pass or overtake 'at speed' rather than have one train stop while another passes. A freight train takes up to five kilometres to work its way up to optimal speed from a standing start.

All the more reason to establishing extended and/or new passing loops from Landsborough North (in addition to relocating some of the stations to their proposed locations on a duplicated Landsborough to Nambour alignment), in combination with finishing the Beerburrum-Landsborough re-alignment and duplication

So I got off my train and wow the bus has left without us, were all stranded in Landsborough as there are no other trains or buses. This is unacceptable. The bus needs to wait for the train, it knows alot of people get on. I have to wait and hour and a half. Please fix this it's unacceptable. And while I'm at it the bus at USC always leaves 10 minutes early. If the Translink app says it doesn't leave till a certain time, I shouldn't. I want my trip reimbursed, if I knew the bus was going to leave us I would have driven. No happy!!!!

TransLink the 615. I caught the train from Caboolture at 12:28 and was supposed to connect to the 615 bus at Landsborough station. The train was roughly 5 minutes behind and when we arrived no bus. And there is no other buses or trains I could catch to work around it. Nothing until 2:30.

I'm stuck here since 1:05pm. At least 10 other people, most of them University students with classes. Each class is roughly $120, so that's what they're missing out on. Down the drain because the bus didn't wait for the train.

If I knew the bus was gone I would have caught the train to Nambour and caught a bus from there. But there's no warning. There has to be a better way

The old people are very confused. I can't give them answers because I don't know what's going on.

Yet another rail to bus connection problem

Something really needs to be done with the constant failure of rail to bus, and bus to rail connections.  RAIL Back On Track has raised this a number of times with TransLink but nothing appears to be happening to sort it.

Its a shame because it looked like they were getting the communication sorted......guess not......that university is a major trip generator no matter what time of the day.......its not uncommon to see 20+ students jumping off the train straight onto that bus route.
This bus-rail connection needs to maintained 100% to the rail frequency......no excuses...

Landsborough is the top priority for countdown clocks, telling the bus drivers how far away the trains are from the station.
There is an audible sigh sometimes when a train from Brisbane passes through the level crossing
immediately south of Landsborough Station and the bus people are hoping will take them to
Caloundra/Maroochydore/USC is sitting behind the boom gates, having left the station moments before.

Yes, the inner routes 5 to 6 minutes should be enough, providing the bus run times are right.

But out in the sticks, where frequency is very poor.  There needs to be more connection time.

Example: Down Nambour timetabled to arrive at 9.04am (M-F).  631 bus departs at 9.09am.

This is the sort of connection that needs expanding to 10 minutes.  The train can arrive technically ' on time ' and you will still miss the bus.

And having the driver being able to monitor the train arrival times would also assist greatly.  I have seen a number of complaints over the years of this as an example of a failed connection, often only by a minute or two, the next 631 bus is 84 minutes on ..

( Footnote - on Friday I am heading up to Cooroy, plan to catch the 9.09am 631 bus at Nambour.  I cannot trust that the connection will be made so I am going to travel on the earlier down Nambour, arrives at 8.02am. )
