^ Not sure that's a fair assessment.  There wouldn't be many mornings anywhere that are perfect in any Australian suburban network. 

The only noticeable difference for me was the appearance of a 160/260 lash-up on my trip up from Robina this morning - not exactly "strange" but definitely rare these past few months.

Social media reports most of the trains (6 in total) between 7.22 & 7.52 were either cancelled/delayed or skipping..
A lady also missed her bus connection at bray park due to the 8.22 kipparing ex central being delayed....
Another missing an important specialist appointment due to the springfield line disruption....

People might as well be playing the pokies with these RS issues......at least with the pokies you have a chance of getting something back....... no such case with a cancelled/delayed train or missed connection..

The entire morning peak run of the Kippa Ring line is pretty much NGR's now.

The real question is whether services are being cancelled because of rostering problems, not a few failed trains.  On that metric it seems to be working so far but give it a few weeks before any meaningful assessment can be made.

I assume you are referring to the Morningside - Buranda skipper this morning.  That was the plan, there might have been some other issue that delayed a train.

We really won't be able to tell if the skipping is reduced for a few weeks ....

It was the 5.02pm Central to Manly train that actually experienced some form of 'rollingstock issue'. Delayed approx 15 minutes at Morningside station. NGR this time...Like all good IT fixes though, it was turned off and on again and was then on it's way

Translink service notices really do no one a favour - they make it look like more trains have faults (where these services are really flow on impacts) and don't even mention the service with the fault and most delayed.
