Beenleigh and Gold Coast line trains travelling outbound are suspended in both directions between Rocklea and Yeerongpilly stations due to a motor vehicle which has struck a rail bridge at Rocklea. Customers can expect delays of 30 minutes.

Technicians are en route.

As a result, Beenleigh line trains travelling inbound will run express from Coopers Plains to Yeerongpilly.

The pids can show wrong trains but generally this is only the screen displaying the trains heading in X direction - not the train at the platform ie Cleveland might be at the top of the list but the screen beside might display Gold Coast. This can happen when services are delayed or cancelled. The only other instance would be a late change ie platform
Swapping. Depends when the pax last saw the screen and boarded. But 15 mins on a train, numerous announcements and heads up displays.

^ thanks.  Yes, it seems the PID did mislead them and probably put the head phones on and switched off only to discover they were heading towards Altandi rather than Buranda when they departed Park Road 

I recall I ended up on a Beenleigh train one day when heading to Ippy.  In a dream ...

Might be possible that the Gold Coast train was changed to P2 due to another train at P1 (happens during congestion). Last time they looked it said Cleveland and out of habit simply boarded the wrong train. Which seems like the most likely thing that happened.
