Manly bound NGR has failed at Park Rd, I was on the Beenleigh train after it stopped at South Bank, next Beenleigh train coming on P3 at least. Gonna be chaos for outbound Cleveland line pax however, especially the sardine service which comes through about now.

It wasn't an NGR from what I saw, but an SM260/IM160 series.  I got off the city bound train at Park Road at about 5:15pm.

I would hope they are only being used as sparingly as possible at this point.  There are more NGR cars in service than the total number of EMU cars ever built and there have been no significant service improvements since the NGRs entered the fleet in late 2017, except for bulking up some 3 car to 6 car sets.  From now on I would hope the focus is on eliminating all remaining 3-car workings and then flogging the EMUs off as rapidly as possible afterwards.

Beenleigh and Gold Coast line trains travelling outbound will experience residual delays of up to 15 minutes following an earlier rollingstock issue at South Brisbane station.

There was a delay in recovering it due to the paperwork involved. A unit was sent to collect it from behind and then towed it back into Mayne. The emus are on the way out. Any unit at Ipswich that isn't there for work has been retired. The only stabled rollingstock that fo back into rotation are the weekly units in the northern yard and on the Normanby loop which will get another 12 units to add to the existing 12 units as more ngr come online.

What is happening with the Kipp-Ring line? Two trains cancelled this morning (7:28 and 7:58). The overcrowding on these trains between 7:30-8 is already a significant issue. Cancelling trains just exacerbates this. There are more than 40 people now waiting at Carseldine station and I'm guessing most will now be late for work.

Tennyson station is gone, I think it's unlikely it will reopen in the near future, but the line won't close, it's important for freight services from the west to the port.

Interesting, perhaps it was another service.  The IMU160/SM260 I saw at Park Road P1 was just sitting there not going anywhere for a solid 5 mins while I was waiting for a connecting bus at Boggo Road, and it was already there as I saw it sitting on platform 1 from the train I was on (from the Beenleigh line), so it looked like the service at Park Road had broken down.

I mean, not that it really matters, at the end of the day, a train of some sort broke down.  :conf
