Bridge strike at Enogerra has now closed the FG line from Mitchelton to Bowen Hills with buses replacing trains. http://www.translink.com.au/travel-information/service-updates/bulletin/1294644077 1 hour delays. I wonder which way the truck was going as if he was heading towards Samford Rd (along Pickering St) they have recently put in one of those height bars with the dangly chains.

Services suspended between Roma Street and Corinda

All inbound and outbound train services between Street and Corinda have been suspended due to an incident on the rail bridge between the Indooroopilly and Taringa stations.  Buses have been arranged to transport passengers to train stations between Roma Street and Corinda.  Passengers may experience delays of up to 30 minutes.

Passengers travelling between Corinda and Ipswich are still able to catch the Ipswich service.  The train is operating, via a diversion through South Brisbane to Yeerongpilly, rejoining the Ipswich line at Corinda.

Tennyson line is so useful!
Though it is uncomfortably close to the river at that point too.

All trains are now terminating at Carseldine/Bald Hills. I can only imagine this would get worse with peak hour because of limited crossings available to turn the trains around.

Update

Service and timetable disruptions

TransLink and Queensland Rail have degraded the rail service across the suburban and interurban network due to severe flooding and associated resource limitations.

Services are operating on all lines at a reduced frequency, except on the Ipswich line between Ipswich - Rosewood, and on the Caboolture line between Burpengary - Caboolture where they have been suspended.

A large number of services have been cancelled for the remainder of the evening.

Customers should check the TransLink website for latest updates and information.

Thank you for your patience.

And how did you expect them to do that??? Can't pull train crew or units out of thin air, and you seem to ignore the fact that, in amongst the large amount of people being evacuated from the City, there were a large amount of train crew trying to get home to protect their own properties from the floods. They were running as many services as possible with a very small amount of traincrew.
All opinions stated are my own and do not reflect those held by my employer.

QR did a great job under the circumstances.  Received a lot of positive feedback.  Unfortunately the bridge strike did complicate things for a while but QR worked around that.

Thanks for all the effort put in, and for running today as able as well.

A couple of DH locos and SX sets could possibly maintain services for a bit longer but all in all working with what they have, both staff and equipment QR has performed far beyond what one might reasonably expect.
A terrific effort that all involved deserve to be congratulated on.   :-t   :lo

Agree completely. Sterling effort by QR, and MVHR as well.

Didn't QR use DH locos to keep things going in '74 for a bit?

I wasn't ignoring anything.  I was merely saying that if they had the resources, they should be providing additional services.  But as my following post pointed out, they were struggling to get crews for timetabled services, let alone additional ones.
