Trespass seems quite common on this line, which is strange due to the fact that there is a pathway the entire length with plenty of legal ways to cross the line (where there is somewhere worth crossing too).

Couriermail --> Man impaled while jumping train tracks at Nundah

A MAN has been freed after becoming impaled on a fence along a rail line in Brisbane's north this evening.

Emergency services responded to a call at around 8.15 this evening at 253 Melton Rd, Nundah.

Upon arriving, ambulance crews treated a man who had injuries to his left forearm.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the man was freed at around 8.30pm, and was alert and talking to authorities.

He was transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said the man had jumped the tracks along the rail line.

A Queensland Rail spokesman said trains were suspended for about 10 minutes along the Sunshine Coast, Redcliffe Peninsula and Shorncliffe lines.

The spokesman said services were resumed at restricted speeds and then resumed normal services shortly after.
