Apparently reading reports from the other forums, theres also flyers going up along the Beenleigh line of a new sweeper service starting from Kuraby.  Anyone heard of any news about it as well?

Thanks for the report Arnz.  I haven't heard anything or been able to find anything on the TL or Citytrain web sites.

What station was the flyer spotted?  Might go for a trip if I have the time.

Thanks.

Bob

The old service 8.50am is now express Kuraby to South Brisbane all stations  Bowen Hills, and a new service Kuraby all stations leaving 8.52am all stations FYG.

Funny that no updates anywhere ...

Cheers

It looks like 2 services have been put in one slot through Kuraby. This is a quite late am peak service. Does anyone know if this service was previously overcrowded? Also is an extra train being run to Kuraby to form this service, or is it utilising a previously empty returning train?
Evening peak service to Enoggera* 2007 - 7tph
Evening peak service to Enoggera* 2010 - 4tph
* departures from Central between 16:30 and 17:30.

I don't know Stephen.

This is interesting that flyers are going up around the Citytrain network but no updates on either TransLink or Citytrain web sites ...

As if Beenleigh needs an additional express service when it is perhaps the most over-serviced station wrt expresses on the network!!
Look at the percentage of overcrowded trains on this line and compare with caboolture which receives absolutely no additional 'sweepers'
And one wonders why I refuse to participate in QR's community reference groups!!!  :'(

Hear Hear Brad!

The entire Caboolture/Nambour peak period could do with some fixing of gaps, this includes moving the Nambour peak trains around to fix the gaps (4:02 - 4:34 - 5:17 - 5:36 - 6:07)  At worst a 43 min gap between (quoted from QR Timetable) trains #1L09 and #TL11.

I reckon Caboolture/Nambour will get a revamp once the Caboolture-Beerburrum duplication/realignment opens.  I think that's supposed to be in February as Bob has mentioned - but I guess it depends on whether they can get the section open by then.

I think the new Caboolture - Beerburrum double line might not be commissioned now until Easter (unconfirmed, just a guess).  Although Mr Lucas Deputy Premier said today at Indooroopilly ...

QuoteMr Lucas also said a new morning peak-hour service on the busy Ipswich line would be introduced from tomorrow to help ease passenger demand ahead of further service enhancements early this year.

We have been promised before ...

We will keep pushing for more services regardless.
