QUESTION:

Will the Minister provide the average number of boardings (reported separately by day and bus
service) for bus services, 715, 716, 717, 718, 725, 727, On Demand Pacific Pines bus service
during the 2023 calendar year?

ANSWER:

I thank the Member for Theodore for the question.

I am advised that average boardings by day across the 2023 calendar year for the requested
services are as below.

I think in particular the very short 716 should be covered by on demand.

Bizarre range of services he has asked about - the 714 is missing, so is the 723.

Re the 716 - I believe that is scheduled to be run by a bus which would otherwise be sitting out of service at Helensvale between other runs.  I'd probably be tacking it onto the 717 myself and realigning the resulting route a bit.

The on-demand service seems to be performing reasonably well - 46,000 or so across the year.  There are plenty of scheduled services which do worse.

(What I really want to see in the annual figures we should get in the next few months is how the Coomera area has been doing compared with the previous year after all the improvements were rolled out.)
