Just saw the new gocard ad on tv - looks slick, professional and well done.

However a couple of issues, it appears that one of the early scenes show three people touching on/off which the space of 1 second or so along with three individual beeps for each of the cards - I didn't think that the system could cope with three different card touches in such a short space of time, indeed I thought some people have been advised that errors on their gocards had been attributed to subsequent commuters touching on "too close" to their touch.

The other issue being the highlighting of the at least 20% discount for gocard users.

Oh dear, unless they have fixed up the connecting airtrain ripoff this is not true now is it?

I am still to hear back from the Office of Fair Trading on this point.

I am trying to check the TransLink journey planner to see if the rip-off fares are still there.  The TL site is hanging ... (make cup of tea ..)   now back up complete with flash 'easy come easy go' ad.

Fare is still more for the rip-off journey.  So continue to break your journey folks ... (see this thread if you don't know what I am posting about --> http://backontrack.org/mbs/index.php?topic=1304.0 )

:o

PS  I clicked on the 'easy come easy go' ad  and ... --->  http://www.transinfo.qld.gov.au/undefined  !!
Must be still setting it up ...

The link on the 'easy come, easy go' ad on the main TL page ( http://www.transinfo.qld.gov.au/ ) is still dead at 3.50am 19th.

;)

Update:  now linked to http://www.translink.com.au/go

I really like the ads but i dont like how it looks like everyday you will be getting a new train. And how friendly the staff are.you also usually have to wait a couple of seconds to touch on after someone!
"Where else but Queensland?"

I didn't see it - but my partner mentioned "excludes airtrain" when the ad was showing (i.e. fine print somewhere on the screen).

The beeps are sound effects.  They sound like the scanners at Woolworths!

Thanks Derwan, nice to know that it excludes Airtrain ... LOL

Oh dear ...

I will touch off at the CBD and then touch on again on those trips.  It is a very silly situation.

Cheers

More misleading spin and propoganda by a flawed and failed Translink

O_128

Maybe translink should make the beep sound like That sound affect it is currently to quiet to hear

I've seen this ad and its a joke when compared to what really happens. People with Go Cards all line up and have to wait for people fumbling with go cards, touching and re-touching etc ... while people with weekly paper tickets sail thru the barriers 3 times as fast.  ;D

ozbob

Yes, I had to move to a different gate this morning at the go card array at Roma St ...  was getting red X

At Central this afternoon, Edward St go card array, on direction there has been two red Xs showing since last Thursday, this afternoon joined by a third, all showing  error messages.  Will these ever be fixed?  Let's see how long it takes.
