The official boundaries of the state government's major redevelopment of Woolloongabba - which includes new pedestrian walkways and a rebuilt Gabba stadium - ahead of the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games have been declared.

It is the latest step in securing the state government's plan of having pedestrian walkways across the city, thousands of new homes and a rebuilt Gabba Stadium as legacies of the Games.

A total of 106ha, the equivalent of about 142 rugby league fields, will be sucked into the Woolloongabba Priority Development area with the zone officially gazetted on Friday.

It means planning and development approvals across the area will be handled by the state government, with an interim land use plan to be in effect for 12 months while a detailed scheme is drawn up. ...

. The public is invited to have their say on the proposed plan for the Woolloongabba Priority Development Area

. The proposed plan will deliver 14,000 new dwellings, accommodating an estimated 24,000 people over the next 40 years.

Towers of up to 75 storeys would be allowed in Woolloongabba under a new Queensland government planning scheme put out for public comment on Thursday.

Towers of up to 75 storeys would be allowed in Woolloongabba under a new Queensland government planning scheme put out for public comment on Thursday.

Go to the next suburb and most plots are restricted to two-story single family homes. That's Brisbane planning for you - tall and sprawl, and nothing in between.

Also noted a couple of things.

1. The new Busway Station (Not a true METRO) is a big deal but the CRR is just a train stop.  It should/must be the same station.  I am so fed up with this mode separate station crap.
